  • dr. nim is cheating!!!

  • Greece?

  • @1995649 Well... in Australia now, but I go to Kastellorizo (Greece) every year. :-)

  • @kastellorizo ok :)

  • where can i get this

  • I'm gonna try to make this out of LEGO. Wish me luck!

  • This Game IS Winnable :D

I did the calculations, and if they had used two less (or 2/6/10/14/... more) marbles, the game would be an autoloss for the player/ autowin for Nim

I have never played this game, but can you try picking 2,1,3,1,3,1,3! By my analysis, It's the only way you can win!

This game has genius design, based on a system of 4 possible game states upon which Dr Nim will choose 1, 2, or 3 pick!

  • @SirAuv lol I tried figuring out how to win as well :P and heres what i got: Say x is the amount of marbles. If (x-1)/4=a number without decimals, you want to go second and always land on 4, 8, 12, etc. else if (x-1)/4=a number with decimals, you want to go first and land on the remainder of (x-1)/4. So ex1: x=37. (37-1)/4=no decimals. So you go second and always land on 4, 8, 12, etc. ex2: x=36 (36-1)/4=decimals. So you go first and land on the remainder, which is 3, then 7,11,15, etc.
  • I don't get it. I thought you were winning but then you said Dr. Nim wins again.

  • it looks kinda interesting kinda bullshit at the same time am i right?? jajaja

  • You know you're playing alone, don't you?

  • Where did you get that game from?

  • there's a simple method to winning this, try and give the opponent FIVE marbles at the end.

they choose 1, you choose 3, they end up with the last one

they choose 2, you choose 2, they end up with the last one

they choose 3, you choose 1, they end up with the last one

  • this game is even more un-fair than tic-tack-toe!

the computer (dr. nim) will almost allways win!

  • like the "eleven game", we play it all the time in my drama class

  • trippy shit

  • @RadivojeVracar Dr. Nim doesn't...

  • thers a trick on that game~ u always leave 5 marble~ if he take1 u take 3~ if 2=2~ if 3=1~

  • I loved ESR of Montclair, NJ. They made the coolest stuff. I still have a Dr. Nim and a Think-A-Dot, though not in pristine condition. Sadly, I accidentally broke my Digi-Comp 1 over 40 years ago. That was the coolest of all, at least until Digi-Comp 2 which I never owned.

  • One of my all-time favorite games from when I was a kid! I once tried to turn it into a computer game on a TRS-80, but my graphics knowledge was just a little too limited then.

  • cooooooooooool

  • i want this game D:

  • So...its very easy. 1=L, 2=W, 3=W, 4=W, 5=L, 6=W, 7=W, 8=W, 9=L, 10=W, 11=W, 12=W, 13=L, 14=W

So the whole game is forced. The computer gets 4 turns and you will leave it in the four losing positions (13, 9, 5, and 1)

  • I remember playing this game as a kid. It seems to act like mechanical computer flip flops. Someday I will try and buy one and play it again. Thank you for letting me see one of my favorite toys from 45 years ago!

    David, Rochester, New York.

  • however the game is still fun and is very entertaining to play

  • this one is easy i could win this every time i personally know the mathematics behind it and how to always win it depends on what you choose first.

  • i want one

  • Dr. Nim

    The Strongest

  • there is one on ebay right now (6 hours left) i would like to buy it but the shipping cost 2 muchs 4 me ;C

  • Dr Nim is really strong! :O Good game ^^

  • lol

  • what did you grab or pull or whatever in the begging of the video? is there like a Safety you have to pull or something underneath the board? also what is on top of the ehh lever that releases marble what is that?

  • your questions are about the mechanical facts, which I am not sure how to answer, unless I show to you the game in real life. Or you could get one of those from ebay. :-)

  • hmmmm maybe i could search it up and find images of it i mean even though it is rare someone else has bound to put up pictures of this also if you turn it upside down will all the marbles fall out? XD

  • yeap, if I turn it upside down, all marbles will fall out!!! :-)

  • oh its easy i no a game like this.. ok so theres 19 or i guess any odd number and the one you want 2 loose goes 1st we will call him 2 the 1 who is going 2nd (the winner) is 2 ok so 1 picks 2, 2 picks 2, if 1 picks 1, 1 picks 3, if 2 picks 3, 1 picks 1. do you get it he just makes it add 2 four so if they keep going... 1 will win

  • holy crap thats awsomE! can someone try and make one? mabey a wood one

  • i really want one of thise now thats really cool

  • their is a web site where can play i forgot it dought i remeber i will put it up on my channel

  • who has it for sale? I'll buy it....

  • OMFG THAT AMAZING!!!

  • kala e fovero to thelw k egw!!!

  • >_> Uh... What the hell does that even mean?

  • it is greek, he said "it is tremendous, I want one too!"

  • That's ingenious. The position of the levers are the result of Dr. Nim's choice and the player's choice adjusts the leavers for Dr. Nim.

  • cool, and whats that white dino cube in the backround? i saw something like that once for sale on a website. it said it was magnetic?

  • Yes it is magnetic. You can achieve the type of movement of different puzzles. It is just less stable. :-)

  • do you remember where you got it? ir know where i can get one? o and it functions like a dino cube right?

  • I got it from ebay a few years ago. It can function like many types of puzzles (including a Dino Cube), but its movements may cause the pieces to fall apart. Therefore, it is not recommended to treat it like a twisty puzzle. ;-)

  • OMG I WANT THAT PUZZLE/ GAME SO MUCH LOL

  • make a video of you playing against another person or dr nim playing against himself

  • holy...

  • I know how that works. Its ingenious.

  • There should be a sequel, Dr. Tran, where EVERYBODY wins!

  • One marble left, it was your turn, that would have given you 8 for the win Dr NIM loses with 7 points. This is a neat idea.

  • Why are there those white turning pieces? It doesn't seem like they do much besides change the direction of the puzzle..

  • In fact, those white pieces (flipflops) do all the work

The position of the top 3 flipflops is changed by the previous marble and they rule the route of the next marble. They control whether or not another marble should roll

The middle flipflop "reset position" changes if the goal changes (yes there are more games!)

The last flipflop is about whose turn it is. It must be turned to "Dr Nim" if it's Dr Nim's turn, otherwise it's "Player's" turn

    All flipflops are connected logically

  • Your*

  • Finally heard you voice.

    ~Noah

  • Wow that's really great. I love this sort of thing

  • Amazing
