well in australia thereare 3 different time zones and we have daylight savings..but not every state/ territory has daylight savings. i.e It is currently daylight savings in Canberra, at 8:30 pm (+10:00 GMT). but in Queensland (also + 10:00) they dont have daylight savings so it is only 7:3o pm. Imagine Australia split into 3 parts, as you go to the west, each part goes back half an hour..... I dont know if that helps but there you go.

this might not make sence but this is how i understand time zones. so when its 12pm wherever you are the sun is straight up in the sky. so the sky is basicly like a clock... if you get use to it you can tell what time it is without a watch. so when its 12pm in eastern the sun is right above us and over in cali its 9am becuz the sun isnt as far in the sky it looks about 9 if the sky was a clock.hopefully that makes sence and now u get it...lol
