HI Can you tell me something: I have a ps3 and a optoma hd 3d projector. I want to send the blu ray films ( 3d or not ) from my ps3 to the projector by wi fi, will this product handle it if not do you know one that will.
This is great concept. However, I have a 1080p projector system. I would love not having to run wires from my PS3 (on the floor) to the projector (mounted to the ceiling). But the extra power wire i would have to run for the receiver would defeat the whole purpose... Good, but flawed idea. Anyway to get around that?
nice review thanx man! btw i didnt have time to watch whole vid at work.. how much does this kit cost ( the stuff i would need to broadcast whats on my desktop pc to my hd tv ) :) thanx again
Hey I've been thinking about this system since many years ago a lightening strike burned my cablebox, vhs AND TV!! Now I have an expensive full HD TV and I don't want it to happen again. Will it work as I'm expecting? Thanks in advance!
Are there products like this that you can plug a keyboard and mouse in on the tv/home theatre end? So if the computer was in another room you could still access content?
These devices have a "line of site" proximity range. Meaning it has to be within 30ft in clear view of your large display to work. Galaxy is actually coming out with a Nvidia GTX 460 video card with the same technology built into it. This card won't be limited to 30 feet but 100ft even through walls. I'm looking forward to seeing some reviews on this card.
Great review, do u think this type of wireless tech is gonna be useful? I mean, the reciver looks kinda big, not to mention u have an extra powerbrick, anyway, nice video, thanks for sharing this info, I had no idea the WHDMI even exist.
@Ryosanc Well, you only need that extra brick at the receiver end, at your home theater receiver lets say. The transmitter on the laptop site runs off USB power when plugged into notebook.
I think it's going to be very big tech eventually but will likely get more integrated into notebook platforms coming to market in the future (so you won't need the external transmitter box, it'll just be built in). For now, it "just works" and works pretty darn well I might add. Pretty cool!
@HotHardwareVids I really enjoyed te review. I ended up buying the WiCast. I didn't notice the drum until I read the complaint, which is after watcing it 4 times. It's not that noticable unless unless you have background drum OCD.
hi!!! does this support a laptop with 5.1 surround???

Top-notch tutorial. Didn't notice the drumloop but did notice the excessive violence.

Do you know which would be best for S3D? I would like to use a wireless streaming solution with a Sony HMZ-T1 HMD.

@Ziming The review here is of line of sight scenario. But WHDI technology transmits through walls as well. Just google it up.

I'd love to see the performance if the notebook was put in a bedroom about 20 metres away from the TV

@sonofkikkoman sorry to annoy... that was definitely not the intent of our producer and the levels on it are pretty low. Oh well... we tried.
