the tigers dont actually eat what they kill. after the tourists have taken their pictures and the busses have driven off the lorry comes back and picks up the cow and its taken away to be chopped up for the tigers. they only do live feeding on opening times and the tigers are fed after close as they would be in any other zoo with butchered meat being fed.you can see here that the tigers arent interested because they know the cow will be taken away very soon.

Do you actually know what captive breeding programmes in zoos involve? Do you fuck. You don't just throw a live cow to a tiger and that's the job done. This zoo doesn't use tigers for captive breeding in order for the tigers to be released into the wild. Giving them live food is for the benefit of the tourists, not the tigers These zoos are taking tigers out of their natural habitat to make money from tourists...pure and simple. How's that for a fucked up response?

Zoos should give animals a habitat and conditions that as similar to what they would be in the wild as possible. in the wild tigers have to kill. and why not make a spectacle out of it, that cow would still have to die even if it was killed by humans in a slaughterhouse.

They need that challenge to keep their instincts and they clearly don't have that at all. The cruelty of this is that the tigers aren't even hungry! The cow would have suffered a lot less if the tigers weren't so well fed. I have a python, and I feed her live rats. A snake will not kill unless it is going to eat right then. And it kills in the same fashion every time. If she isn't hungry, the rat can even cuddle up to her. With a tiger, the killing just takes longer when they're not really hungry. LET THEM GET HUNGRY!
