I think you are over driving the ALC you need to turn the microphone gain down so the ALC is only half way on the scale it will make the audio sound much better just an observation cheers John

Verticals are never too good for inter-G, you'd probably get better signal reports from DX stations, but the 7000 is a thing of beauty, ain't it? Icom should pay you a commission, your video's helped sell me one.

Like the idea of the mobile phone holder to hold the front of your radio I also use one its perfect for front off radios. Nice video audio is very good and clear sounds well that icom.
