It is not true-- the fight by Obama was a fight to keep the current system and even strengthen it. As was proven we, we could have had a very strong government plan which was second to a single-payer system supported by a vast majority of doctors and nurses nation wide who know the suffering people have experienced under the current system. @70sRob Oh give it up! How many times do Dems refuse to take any responsibility for their own messes and simply blame their predecessors? Too many! Ironically, they don't believe Republican presidents inherit messes from Dem presidents. GW Bush, in their partisan minds, did not inherit a slowing economy in '01. Nixon did not inherit the Vietnam war from Johnson. Eisehhower did not inherit the Korean War, economic troubles, etc. from 20 years of FDR/Truman. Carter sucked & he deserved defeat!

@70sRob i agree. And they say Obama spends too much money on health care and other "useless" programs, when Bush spent 1 trillion dollars on the Iraq war. Can you imagine the other places that money could have gone?
