Moms and Dads have the same markings, the female is just a little smaller than the Dad. Both parents raise the young. Here in Virginia the traffic STOPS for ducks crossing with their little ones. Everyone does it, automatically. :)
Sweet video. I must admit I was cringing as I watched it. For about the past three days, I have seen a family of geese cross the street to go to the pond. On my way home from work, there is this one area that for the past three days around 4:30pm they have crossed the street. I was begining to think they could tell time. It is adults and babies and oh so cute.I am guessing it is because the traffic slows down for a bit before the 5:00 traffic.
Hey, check out my video of geese and their goslings! My video was taken in Cambridge, though, but is just as cute. Do you have a lot of geese in Burlington? We've always had geese in Cambridge, but their population has recently increased. This is actually the first year that I've seen goslings.
I held my breath the whole video......

i go to a pond about 2 times out the week to see and feed the geese, i think geese are cool and they are not really scared to get close to humans.

Would goose and gander have the same markings? I thought male and female differed in their feather pattern.
