The record player thing was a spur of the moment, temporary setup. I used it as a kind of gate/tremolo/sequencer thing.
Basically I connected the output of the torso synth (you can use anything that has sound output) to a guitar cable that only had a jack on one side and thus two loose wires on the other. I then had another cable plugged into my mixer also with only one jack. Connect the ground wires from the two cables together,
and then attach the other two wires to the arm of the record player so that they are touching the turntable (but not each other). You then tape aluminum foil or any other conductive material to the turn table in a pattern to your liking (this will end up being the rhythm of the gate/sequence). When the table spins, the aluminum should complete the circuit of the two wires. So every time the aluminum closes the circuit, sound will be heard.
