@tallenuf53 Joshoua is married and is running one of their (several) business's. Hes a manager of their auto dealership. He probably doesn't have time for college with that business and his family. However, Jim Bob & Michelle have mentioned college plans for their kids in several interviews. In fact, I believe one of the girls (unsure which one) said she wants to be a nurse someday. Thanks for agreeing with me. Yes the family is cute and I don't think they are necessarily bad people, but they definitely have an altered sense of perception. Whether they choose to have more children or not, I do not see them being able to afford all those children's college tuitions. The older kids take care of the little kids because no mother and father can be there hands on for that many children when it is needed. It's just sad.

It's huge. They've got like 4 washers, 4 dryers, 2 big vans, 3-4 other autos, 21 mouths to feed, they're meat eaters, have a 7-11 sized pantry w/huge cans & containers which are not recycled. The heating, cooling and water usage, 3 huge freezers/fridges, etc., etc.. It's insane. Also, the kids have potential of adding 200-300 or more kids of their own. It's disgraceful!

If i'm being honest and i'm sorry if i offend anyone but i think having 19 children is too much.Two people cannot look after 19 kids.What Michelle and Jim Bob do is make the elder siblings look after the younger ones and getting publicity out of them.Why Michelle and Jim Bob give the children a 'nomal' childhood by letting them go to school etc.
I'm not aganist the Duggar family as i have seen worst cases and it's their life choice but why couldn't they adopt.Kids out there need a home you know!

Their adult son married a woman, they had a child thus making Michelle & Jim Bob grandparents. Third, even without the 19 kids & Counting show, they would still have enough income from their rental real estate, their business (Financial Freedom Seminars) and their auto dealership. @Mitsy1212 The fact they "parade" their kids around doesn't affect you at all. It costs you nothing, they don't eat your food nor do they live in your house. They do however teach their kids to be decent, respectfull and well behaved (Thats more than most parents do.) They in fact own a very prosperous company (Financila Freedom Seminars LLC which holds financial workshops,) as well as an auto dealership. I guess theres no point in us debating this further. @tallenuf53 Joshoua is married and is running one of their (several) business's. Hes a manager of their auto dealership. He probably doesn't have time for college with that business and his family. However, Jim Bob & Michelle have mentioned college plans for their kids in several interviews. In fact, I believe one of the girls (unsure which one) said she wants to be a nurse someday. Those seem like very judgmental statements to me. I can't imagine that you have any way to know that. (BTW, John and Kate made something like 100k pr yr split between them and their 8 children in trust funds, not a lot of money after taxes and all.)
As far as Jim and Michelle are concerned, its all about Jesus and doing the best they can to honor Him by managing the home they have been given.
IMHO, they are a true inspiration. If they can pull it of with 18, I can with my few.

Thanks for agreeing with me. Yes the family is cute and I don't think they are necessarily bad people, but they definitely have an altered sense of perception. Whether they choose to have more children or not, I do not see them being able to afford all those children's college tuitions. The older kids take care of the little kids because no mother and father can be there hands on for that many children when it is needed. It's just sad.

Jealous? No. I'm just against freeloaders. At the start, only the husband worked (+/- 50k a year for 10+ kids). People unloaded tons of clothing and food (things that could be given to the poor or the unfortunate) at their house and then they became greedy. They don't pay taxes on the land and the things they buy, not to mention the tax credit they get off each kid. I'm sorry but my parents thought me one important thing in life and that is that freeloaders are the scum of society.

This is so sad. Everyone knows that the older you get the more likely you are to have birth defects. Mrs Duggars seems determined to keep having them though. I have a real problem with people who choose to create disabled children. Think octomom. She knew the risk of severe disability to the child when she chose to get pregnant. I would never abort a child for being disabled but would never choose to get pregnant with a disabled child.

All of their kids are so well behaved, probably better than most of you! Every one of them are loved and cared for. All they are doing is practicing their faith and living life. Actually, birth control is not forbidden. Michelle used to be on the pill but discontinued after a miscarriage when she didn't even know she was pregnant. It's huge. They've got like 4 washers, 4 dryers, 2 big vans, 3-4 other autos, 21 mouths to feed, they're meat eaters, have a 7-11 sized pantry w/huge cans & containers which are not recycled. The heating, cooling and water usage, 3 huge freezers/fridges, etc., etc.. It's insane. Also, the kids have potential of adding 200-300 or more kids of their own. It's disgraceful!

Lots of negativity from you sadly, my gran had her last at the age of 43 and was a very healthy baby boy and I came a short 2 years later as the first grandchild. My gran lived well into her 80's and even met my first born. I am an only child and have spent 4 decades very lonely aching for a sibling that obviously isn't coming. JimBob and Michelle will come to that point as well, my older aunts took care of my younger aunts/uncles, all turned out fine and happy; SAD when they left home!

I think you need to learn respect towards those around you and not get offended when you're wrong. I'm an OB/GYN. I'm quite familiar with the uterus and the birth canal, and all their wonders. The purpose of Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery is generally for visual purposes; unless in a dramatic case, such as rape, where a victims has severe scarring. a big family works for THEM katelyn, b'cuz of the way their faith leads them to live. The peices fit together. Look at how happy & loved the kids are. Those older kids don't feel used, they are being groomed for their own lives. They dont go out & work at McDonalds, they work at home. Look at how much is put into each child. Everyone can play an instrument, every child gets at least a HS education, check statistics, folks with ONE kid cant manage to do that. No Juvenile hall for the Duggar kids.
