Thanks. I like your videos. Do these gyms you mentioned in Japan have spin classes or other group fitness? I am a spin enthusiast and would find it difficult to have to do cardio work on machines all the time. I live in the Chicago area now but may be moving to Japan as part of my job.
When I was in Japan two years ago I tried hard to find gyms and really only got one workout in at a University. But I liked the university gym and that also might be an option for membership if they have a community offer.
I have a related question as well. Are there supplement providers like GNC in Japan?
Although not as extensive as GNC, most sporting goods stores I go to around Kansai have a pretty solid stock of protein powders and various exercise related supplements. Common stuff!
Hey Kevin and PJ, great videos, i enjoy watching them.
I have a question that relates to the question of if women like muscle men, i'm not a muscle man but I'm REALLY tall, I'm about 6'7" which i think is about 201cm. my question is, what do japanese people think about a guy who is as big as an NFL defensive lineman?
I'm also fit the basic stereotype of a gaijin blonde hair, blue eye, etc.
I know its been mentioned how tall PJ is but this is the first time I've seen him and Kevin standing next to each other even ground and he makes Kevin look like a shrimp.
Nice set of factoids re gyms in Japan, guys! I actually sent kansaipj a pm a while back about gyms (on another acct) and he was really helpful. Good to see a full vid. I pay $29 a month in the u.s. to "get my huge on," but your rates seem on par w/ the majority of the other gyms in D.C. (we're a "recession-proof" city though, so... euhh). But, no beer commentary on this video? Caahmaan, I believe that's called "slacking on your macking."
Depends what is in that set. I think if you do an internet search you can find the info you are looking for. In Japan, owning a decent set of weights is not an option for most people due to space considerations, but I know several people who do own their own.

My wife (Japanese) tells me that many young women in Japan are after men sporting the "skinny macho" image. -Kurt :-)

So how tall is PJ! (Or how short is Kevin?)

alas...I am a shrimp. I'm only about 5 foot 7 / 171cm.
I should have worn lifts during the filming....or stood on some phone books! hehe

iono, lately in the states it's been more of a slim fit build vs a muscle man. runners, cyclists & swimmer's build are in fashion now
