AIG is bad but I'm very mad at Madoff too.
It is almost impossible for him to have done this on his own. They should look into any of his family members to see if they had involvement. Some people are saying that his wife was starting to move money, gems, etc. around as they knew he was going down. It's even more disgusting as there's video tape of him saying how "hard" the government is, so it's difficult to run something illegal.

What the hell else would we expect when the government bails out a companies instead of letting them go into chapter 11 and renegotiate contracts. The contracts are valid, although I don't like them getting the bonus money, a contract is a contract, till chapter 11 reorganization is legally declared. Pay the SOB's and get government out of the bailout business. I want to keep my tax money more than most. Get government out of private business. Government has already fucked up enough!

I just saw an article on Senator Chris Dodd, who had the part about restricting bonus pay at AIG removed & it just happens that during his campaign a whole lot of big AIG people donated big time to him.
I wish we could just remove every single politician, not allow them to ever hold puplic office again & bring in all new people-maybe they'd end up just as corrupt but it would just feel good to at least kick all these politicians out-make them get real jobs & live by the laws they've passed!

I love the Chris Dodd dig at the end. That Congress is grilling these execs of failed companies when it's largely their policies that put them in this position is insanity. Most of Congress ..ok, ALL OF CONGRESS, should be in orange jumpsuits and sent to f**kin' GITMO (before it's closed of course).

To be honest, I'd probably sleep better at night if that happened. I'm so angry over this who debacle. I served my country, I voted for those who I at least hope understand the Constitution and don't sell us out at every opportunity for political points, I write my Congressmen when a issue concerns me, I pay my taxes, pay my own bills yet despite all I do to try to keep my country great it seems forces greater than myself are out to destroy it from within.
