I don´t even compare with Settlers 4, but, at least, s this better than even Settlers 3? Them!!! So much graphics, complex things, lack of colour, and this has no funny. Is just a normal game. In this type i just prefear Age of Empires III than this...

I enjoy stratagy games such as endwar, civilization, age of empires, grand ages rome (which is a city builder like this,) and simcity. Not all americans play these stupid shooting games. No one i know does. I go to the best high school in my state, and have a 4.0. I enjoy building circuits and robots. Don't judge me based on where i live, because i enjoy thinking just as much as anyone.

I used to play settlers 3 back in the day when it got it (1998-1999), I liked the game back in the day but found it sometimes hard to manage (keep in mind I was 8-9 years old then). Now I just happen to accidentally run across this game. Can somebody tell me if the 3 classes are or classes, or if you can combine them. For example can you only be military OR trade OR science classes, or can you use them all?

@OGDutch You could do all of them of course. They are just all different ways you could win. But you could go for one thing to try and win, but i advise that you have work on all aspects of the game. If you don't do any military you could get attacked. If you don't do any science you'll be stupid forever and never get new things. If you deny trade you could lack rescources that you need ect.. Basicaly it's your game, so you can do whatever you want, but you need to ballence them all.

Does playing Settlers 7 use a lot of bandwidth (you have to be online to play). I pay my ISP for a limited monthly plan, and I share it with flatmates, so I was wondering if playing this thing for an hour or whatever would eat up a lot of my gigs. Or is it fairly minimal?

@Neanderthalcouzin No, it doesn't use a lot of bandwidth persay. It's fairly minimal, I watched my network use in task manager while playing and it was never continuous maybe just some spikes from time to time but not much more than the web browser might use. I'd say however to download the demo and try it out and monitor your network usage and see how it does if this is a big concern for you.

@yabakgibumpti, you must have had strange eyes on the previous settlers titles because having played from the very first back early 90's...Ive always though they looked "cartoony" but thats not to say that it's bad. And Ive never understood why "cartoony = kiddy". C'est la vie. The game IMO looks astonishing. much better than any previous title.

This is pretty good but i'd still prefer Dawn Of Discovery due to its incredible in-depth city building system and economy/trade system.

But i'd buy this for my kid to play if its his first time RTS game just to experience it though this game has a few complexities in it but it's easily explainable. Btw both games are made by Ubisoft which I could tell before reading it. They make really similar games but they're all good for their own reasons. :)
