@LittleAlly134 some animals are gentler towards children than adults. They know little children won't harm them but adults excert fear and the animals know they will hurt/attacked.

Dogs, larger dogs shouldn't be kept around children though. Most dogs are very gentle but they are also sensitive so when a baby gets more attention, they get a little jealous because nobody will play with the dog.
