Awesome brother, i love Seu's version of this classic, and you do a sick job covering him! Hit the notes, had the groove right, built the tension beautifully. Well done, and thanks for the lesson, may have to sing this in english while i learn Portuguese. Thanks
i've posted links to lyrics and chords in the info section now. try changing your google settings to Portuguese (or whatever language) in Advanced Search when looking for something like this
amazing job dude. I've video responded with the original Seu version to show how greatly you measure up to it, for those who might not have heard it. Keep up the excellent work amigo.
You are more confortable in the low keys but, anyway, your voice is pretty good tho listen to. It's great to see someone recognising the wonderfull work of Seu Jorge and covering his songs has at this level. Congratulations! Cumps from Portugal.
hey, i couldnt stop smiling, because of how good that was....GIMMME YOUR HANDS...GIMME YOUR HANDS!!! VERY MUCH LIKE THE SEU JORGE VERSION...you put you own style to it...peace
this is a question for anyone who speaks portuguese. i want to learn portuguese in college, but spanish is easier to find. i love the way portuguese sounds but the main spanish that i've heard spoken is latin american spanish. the spanish taught at schools is actually castellano. the people who i know who can speak the language fairly well say that to them, portuguese sounds almost exactly like spanish. does it spanish sound the same to a portuguese speaker?
well, first off, the Spanish taught in schools is usually whatever the teacher is comfortable with. Castellano refers to Spanish as it is spoken in Spain. I have a BA in Spanish and the only time I ever encountered people teaching castellano was in Spain. Regional differneces in lexicon, phrasing, intonation, ect. vary from place to place but it's all Spanish. The more that you learn about Spanish, the more you'll be able to recognize where people are from simply from the way they speak.
On to Portuguese...obviously as fellow Romance languages they have many similarities but those convergences are much more obvious on paper. The phonology is very differnt. If you want to get very simple then I would say that Portuguese sounds like French and Spanish mixed because Portuguese uses a lot of nasal sounds. Learn Portuguese first and Spanish will come easily, the other way around would be slightly more challenging but not that big of a deal. boa sorte and buena suerte!
all right, thank you. i work with a guy whose father is a spaniard. it's one of those deals where he speaks castillian spanish at home and english else where. he said he can understnad portuguese to a good degree and vice versa. i just love how portuguese sounds and it's a shame that it's not taught more in america. i'm going to study spanish during every year of college. i figure i'll be able to teach myself portuguese after studying spanish since the languages are similiar
