  • i just finished reading the book this morning. and there are some parts, which i still dont understand. but overall it has helped me see myself and my life in a different way, a better way. to appreciate and be thankful for the things that i have and to focus on the little things, which make me happy (not food).

geneen roth has taught me that food cannot make or give me love and happiness, love and happiness needs to come from myself. :)

  • You are beautiful and I mean the true you inside - you are a gorgeous woman! I love Geneen Roth as she was the first and only author that cleared up the why behind my food compulsions. I knew there was a powerful psychology behind it but couldn't figure it out alone. Now I have the tools to not diet and to truly care for, love and nourish myself in a healthy manner. I am overweight from bingeing for 7 years but have recently lost 20- the psychological/spiritual component has to come first .

  • Totally off subject but you have gorgeous skin and eyebrows! Actually, your whole face is absolutely beautiful. And to get back on subject, thanks for posting! I plan to check this book out later this week. =)

  • @DaniellaJoan Yea but from the neck down its like, Dayum.

  • @614BlueBerry Typical; someone who has no picture or videos uploaded talking shit about the way other people look. Grow up, douchebag.

  • sad... New Age demons... It's kinna sad how women obsess over their body and people can use their weakness to totally dominate them.... wnd they wonder why men have little respect for them...

  • WOW and can I say you don't look 35 AT ALL! I thought you were like, 25!

  • you look like denisevlogs. :) shes pretty and so are you.

  • This book is the most amazing book ever. I couldnt stop reading it. Def a fav of mine!! :)

  • Read the "BECK Diet Solution" by Judith Beck, PhD as she uses Cognitive Therapy techniques for dieting, based on her famous father, Aaron Beck, M.D's. work on depression. She teaches how to answer back to those sabotaging thoughts.

  • You're soo encouraging.. Thank you!! :)

  • We miss you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In the book, The Live Food Factor, the author Susan Schenk quotes, Matthew Monarch as saying (and I believe Philip McClusky may have said this too) that the raw food diet tends to bring buried emotional issues up, so it may have been working exactly right for you, but you just needed a tool, like the one Geneen Roth suggested of sitting with the emotion, in order to deal with the emotions that came up. Thanks for sharing your story!

  • Just be fat and stop trying. I don't mean that in a mean way. I mean it honestly. Just be fat.

  • Hi fastinggurl! I just read this book last week and it's changed my life too! After 36 years of compulsive eating and loads of guilt and frustration, I've just eaten in a healtful balanced way for the first time. FOR A WHOLE WEEK! Loved your video too.

  • Its too bad the book brings God into the equation...I won't be reading that particular book.

  • have u ever tried the raw juicing diet that includes a coffee aenima?...gerson therapy

  • I'm reading this book now! I will watch this full video once I'm done. Thanks.

  • Hej you, what you said is soooooo right. I think this is the key. I think even though you are aware and have this great knowledge it would take its time to realize and internalise it. I wish you, to have the patience and tolerance with yourself, to give you the time to let your body and mind feel what you have said.

  • i saw 50cent,omg! what do u think about liquid diet ? :)

  • @AleksandraWajnert He looked SICK! He needs to eat =)

  • @fastinggurl31 Funny thing is 50 cent was able to lose all that weight fast, then gain it all back as healthy muscle mass. Yet when I diet and gain it all back, I just gain a ton of weight and look like crap

  • I read her books when I was 16 and didnt completely understand them until a few years later too, but they helped me tremendously until I was 17, when I was traumatized. After the trauma, I couldnt get it back again, but I did try. I now just started studying Esther and Jerry Hicks and Abraham. They talk about the Law of Attraction and this has been what currently has changed my eating completely. I'm doing really well because I realize that we create our reality. Check out their vids on weight.

  • we have to change our wiring inside our heads.

as gabriel method says eat mindfully and realise we are safe and relax and food is everywhere at anytime. We are safe

and making a choice to eat live food not dead processed chemical foods

  • i cannot believe you are 35!!! wow u look so much younger!!! your very pretty!!

  • That book sounds amazing, thank you for the review! :)

  • YAY!!!! This book was a real life changer for me too. I also read her books in the 90's and they didn't do much for me --guess I wasn't ready. The other life changer for me this year has been studying macrobiotics. It's a really powerful way to find emotional and spiritual balance in your life and you get to use food as a tool rather than it being the enemy. I eat a high raw, low starch, low fat macrobiotic diet. And the weight just falls off with no feelings of deprivation.

  • I'm purchasing the book now. Thank you for the tip. I will definetely report my findings back!

  • random- your skin looks GREAT! What are you doing?

  • Thanks for this vid... I'vd been working on this ... fasting & getting close to God... and stop eating food with preservatives and eating better...

  • what about men food & god ? ! oprah !

  • @toddkrump MAny men use the Geneens program!

  • Once I figured out that the feelings would not hurt me and learned to sit with them I learned to stop wanting to use food as a coping mechanism.

It sounds really simplistic, but it's actually kind of hard. And scary at first. I was afraid that if people saw how I really felt, especially the depths of my anger and sadness that they would find me unlovable.

  • I stopped dieting years ago after reading one of Geneen's earlier books. Threw out my scale, stopped punishing myself, and it was freedom. I feel now that food is just food. It's not a tool I use to distract myself or to avoid feelings I'm uncomfortable with. It's food.

The toughest part for me was sitting with and feeling my feelings. It was SO uncomfortable for me at first I would have to physically get up and move around.

  • So nice to hear you talk like this! Live för life! :)

  • great post! i really love your postings. thank you. i'll be checking this book out for sure. sounds very exciting. :)

  • i admire how you always read into interesting stuff to know wat ur talkin bout,ur always doin ur research. I might have to get that book too coz i cant imagine how someone cud TRULY get out of it a 100 percent when suffering from all kinds of ed's. I have so much school and job stuff to do but theres always time for a book likei read the time of my life by patrick swayze and his wife--beautiful too. much luv to u christina and im with u on the things u said!

  • You have thyroid issues? Do you eat ANY Soy products. That is the FIRST thing that has too go. It wrecks the Thyroid.

  • Thank you! You are a great speaker!

I am on the exact same page. I am going to read that book!

  • this totally describes me. where can i buy this book?

sometimes i say that i'm doing a spiritual fast but i'm really just doing it to lose weight. i feel guilty. because it's selfish and i really do want to get closer to jesus.

  • God is LOVE!!!!

  • I really like Geneen Roth, I didn't realize she had a new book! One question though: Is it fairly religious? I don't mean to judge it by it's name, but I am an atheist and I'm just wondering if it's directed more towards religious folks. Thanks =D

ps I like how you said "sit with the feeling" I wrote it on a piece of paper and put it on my wall =)

  • @thebiggestLoserkid there is like NO god in the book, don't worry. and when she mentions god she doesn't really refer to him in the religious sense.

  • @ieatsalad90 Oh ok sounds good thanks!
