Muslims call for prayer in melodious tune and we get from Hadith that when the prophet migrated to Medina children greeted him with songs and dances that he enjoyed. Creating images are prohibited as that may count for idolatry, not allowed in Islam. Later time Muslims shunned songs and dances assuming those as worldly joys and ways to forget God being addicted to those entertainments.

For example, there are two novel prize winners on literature on Bangla, (not to mention two economists won as well). We have more than enough in our ways of living that we really do not have to borrow from a film industry that has very little connection with the reality. In USA when somebody mistakenly terms me as an Indian, I show my guts admittting I do belong to a poor but complete nationality. We should have the guts to live with the stuffs we have. Even being pragmatic,and with all due respect to Hindi language, it has very little to offer as its not an internationally usefulness like English or French.

Fanatism, fundamentalism is found in all religions, I am not seeking their excuse but seeking their punishment for their crime if it is proved or real. But half-quoting and mis-quoting of quran to prove that Islam is fanatic should also be condemned.

Although Bangladeshi movies, natoks, songs and dances are inferior to those of India, but you cannot deny, they have taken a different flow from years before. Some of them have really excelled to a new standard. I am not talking of this video but in general.

Quran did not give architectural direction or moghlai recipe, true, then did Hindu holy books give the "swaralipi" or dancing direction? Did not Najrul or other Muslim poets and writers had their original contributions? I agree those were not many but a few, but that was due to muslims rejecting studies under British rules, a wrong decision no doubt.

I am telling this because muslims have thousands of books written by muslim scholars worldwide on all subjects spanning architecture, sex, science etc. But those are not considered divine except for Quran the divine holy book according to our belief.
We do have many sacred 'sevens' including seven heavens and seven hells. Hadith is considered the sayings of our prophet and there are many instructions on leading life in those books.

There are no comments, good or bad, in Quran for Songs and dances, but it is itself melodious. Muslims call for prayer in melodious tune and we get from Hadith that when the prophet migrated to Medina children greeted him with songs and dances that he enjoyed. Creating images are prohibited as that may count for idolatry, not allowed in Islam. Later time Muslims shunned songs and dances assuming those as worldly joys and ways to forget God being addicted to those entertainments.

Well I guess you are wrong. It was my best mates wedding in Bangladesh and we all live in Switzerland. So we choreographed a dance in Switzerland with our white and blonds friends and presented it to him in Dhaka where the wedding was held.. Hence wedding Dance in bangladesh ;)

You must be very ignorant about the Bangladeshi culture, literature, and music. Our root is as depth as Indians if not more, and, our literature simply out numbers any of the Indian subcontinent. For example, there are two novel prize winners on literature on Bangla, (not to mention two economists won as well). We have wonderful wedding songs that can be used in Gaye Holuds (Mehedi) and Weddings. Its just due to the modern mass media, our people are so Indianized.....

Art is not the property of a specific religion or nation, it flows from the nature of human being. Later it is developed. But let me ask did india discover saregama or it is a version of western music? Where the harmoniumn comes? Is not western art superior you india follow that? Following is OK but copying is offesive. I have seen several indian movies that has made almost copying of Hollywood movie.

Folk songs of muslim majority Bangladesh are quite different from songs in rest of India. Sufi Fakirs have great contributions. You cannot deny that.

Bangla folks songs are different for sure, but they are not Islamic at all. The Quranic melody is not connected to Bangla music at all. Bangla music, like other Indian music, is all about singing to Hindu Gods and traditions. Just because a Muslim Bengali sings it or changes a few words does not make it Islamic. Koran is not about Music.

at my cousin's wedding we played songs from all different countries, including bangla songs... don't judge people for playing a hindi song, you don't know them. I have lots of arab and turkish friends so we played all kinds of music, there's nothing wrong with that.
