  • a great song by raja sir. the kick starts from the first note of the guitar chord. could anybody please tell me which raga is this

  • I love this song....

  • raja great forever...............

  • Superb song. My cell phone ring tone. Check out @3.54

  • I don't speak Tamil, yet I listen to this song atleast once everyday, it's so magical, Ilayaraja's compositions are enchanting, I want to learn Tamil only to listen to those lyrics, and get that feel of his compositions, how do I learn Tamil? Can any Tamil brother here advise?

  • @slashslayerfly Dear Brother,we respect and appreciate your wish and taste of music, which has no language barriers. Its not easy to learn and understand any language specially the poetry based. Thank you and enjoy.

  • only ilayaraja can create such tunes!

  • 8 people have rated down this song im pretty sure that those people are deaf ....the solos are every guitarists nightmare

  • lol !!!!!

  • A melodious song by S. p.b lovely I like very much

  • the use of guitar is really excellent

  • For the discerning ear...a simple demonstration of Ilayaraja's brilliance....just hear the flute part playing with the main chords of the song. Sets a very high standard.

  • A nice thamil song by S.P.B

  • bestest song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • is this from payanangal mudivadillai

  • LOVELY song by Raja sir...I LOVE this song MAADLYYY..Everytime I listen to this song I feel lIke I am in a totaly different world..such a soulful song!!!!

  • both versions are equally good, Kishore Kumarand SPB at their best time. So it is pointless to compare the hindi or tamil versions. there is no point in language . Those who like Kishore say hindi is better and those who like SPB say tamil is better. It is just admiration of singer but we are missing the point who composed it salutation should be given him.

  • both versions are equally good, kishore and SPB at their best

  • One of the best melodies by ilaya raja...., the songhas good a soothing effect on ur mind and soul..., A song which u can be listening for ever end ever...., Amazing music score By issaignani Illayaraja Sir..., Hatz Off Sir U rock....

  • Even 100 Rehmans and 100 Haris can never give such a melody and heart touching song. Rehman got oscar like pillyar get the Gnanapazhm, just worked for it that and got. Raja like Murugan had focused only on the right way and will despite so many hurdles and earned oscars of so many fans hearts.

  • not every music genius is a drug addict. ilayaraja could be the best example!

  • the crude music is better in ilyaraja's version but as far as lead part n technical quality is concerned rd's is better. it's obvious that one can make a better polished piece out of an original track. i m shocked that even the the copycating legacy of pritam da had started from that period

  • illyaraja is the best!! and today's date is 12/2/2098

  • A sweet song by Raja sir....what a beautiful song..i like this very much

  • My one of favorite song

  • What a song! Beautifgl !!

  • Mother fuckers! Tamilians are the only people who knew what is what. We are contributing to Jackass India's GDP from past 40,000 yrs(Fourty thousand years) if somebody knows the history. With out Tamils India is always a slave country (Look at the history for proofs).

  • @vvelus My God! Let us discuss about powerful melody by Ilayaraja in this song...India is the most respected democracy in the world. Unity in Diversity makes us a great nation, let us not spoil it friends....Else what will be d situation..Look at Pakistan where fellow muslim kill another muslim...In India the gap between religion and states are very less, though not Zero! Nobody can comment bad on tamil people and vice versa; we are from strong developing nation India...btw Ilayaraja is a marvel

  • Ilayaraja is the best!

  • best guitarist ever n forever!

  • great guitar from 3.57....woov...never knew 80s produced such great guitar notes....

  • one of the beautiful song i have ever heard....forget my previous comment. I respect ilayraja....i love the guitar also

  • Kanakkanu nee...physics anu nee...vaname.....

  • look at the way he plays the guitar !!

  • It is such a soothin song...It makes me to hear this song so frequently...

  • Magnificent song..Love you SPB and ilayaraja..

  • Ilayaraja is guru of ar rehman

  • Lovely and fresh after so many years...

  • lol, both the versions,...founder is one and only ilayaraja! so its like cribbing about whether the same creator's version in two languages r better.than each other..lol. Im a keralite and i feel the tamil version technically HAS to be better because it is the start of this beautiful song creation. But even otherwise, it sounds soo much sweeter in tamil...as a personal opinion.but hindi is not bad either!

  • @aljakaba

hohoho!! u r the only one person who is writing with sense here

  • @Oohviyakiruki thanks man!,look at the latest comment. Its now gone to some nonsense level lol! We were talking about a song and its come down to this haha.Did you notice how volatile our great country sometimes is...when it comes to regions or religions or languages! wonder when some outsiders wud take advantage of these things!!!

  • @ Terminator 758 I have the concern with the music of this song and not with th e lyrics.Music of the hindi version is fine.

  • @umeshmaslekar shut up idiot. I don't know tamil but I like the original versions not pop-processed versions like you idiots.

Ilayaraja is revolutionary musician, you dumb loser

  • no one beat illaiyaraja if i listen this song i think my child wood thank u for down loading

  • Hindi version sweetest in all aspect than this Tamil version

  • This song is awesome . Lyrics are good in both. But I think the line " Mugavarigal thavariyadhal azhuthidumo athu mazhaiyo ! tips the balance in favour of tamil !

  • Good Song

  • Mohan is a very lucky guy as all his songs are very melodious. In fact many say that mohan became a star in tamil cinema because of Isaignani and singers like SPB.

But I would say that mohan primarily acts well and deserves his success in Cinema Industry. Also I just get the feeling that this song would have still been good had mohan himself sung it.....his sweet voice and speech clarity can be observed in his dialogues.

  • I think mohan always had someone speak over for him I mean his voice was always dubbed. The voice we see in his films are not his.

  • Correct...

    S.N.Surendar. Actor Vijay's uncle...

  • Yenna padam idhu song ??

  • payanangal mudivathillai

  • One of the best just wonderful SPB and Illayaraja two genius and the the best combination. But no need torrun downs Kishore( a great singer by any yardstick) or compare someone else. Enjoy the song for its own fulfillment,

  • Undisputedly, this is one of the best songs that this entire universe can get to hear ever. Firstly, I pay my due respect to the duo of the singing "Legend" and the music "Maestro" , Kudos, hats-off, apprecieation and there are no words to describe this masterpeice of work. Hail SPB and Ilayaraja ... To close, I salute SPB and Ilayaraja ... Thanks.

  • I bow down to ilayaraaja for this song.I am from kerala. He really is a master in music. And so many hits from a single person.I take the words from hariharaniyerj, his songs will live forever.

  • What a music..this song will live longer than SPB and Ilayaraja

  • Probably the best of Illayaraja

  • wthat a song very fine

  • And here I don't understand a word of this song, I speak Telugu not Tamil but the guitar and the music goes beyond linguistic barriers

  • What intricate guitar work by the maestro, and the voice of SPB is in tune with the instrument, I shall call his voice another instrument here, one of the best works of guitar in the history of cinema ever, sadly the Hindi one doesn't hold up to this standard, neither the singing of Kishore da matched SPB nor the music of KA matched that of Raja the magician

  • Mohan's a ROCKSTAR!!!!!! KICKASS guitar skills :-P

  • Ha ha ha...Fantastic comment. liked your sarcasam.

  • Some idiots says that it was copied frm hindi movie but all those things are fake i got many proof to prove he is king of musix..........................

  • nice song by ilaiyaraja

  • raja is great !

  • what great voice , music & lyricssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

  • Salute to Ilayaraja...............

  • no one can beat raja..... wow wht an amazin song

  • It takes me back to my school days....Wonderful song and Raja was the king those days and MIKE MOHAN was the poor man's Kamal Hassan Lol!

This song makes me want to take a trip to Tamil Nadu.

  • Yes I agree. This rendition is better than the KK one in Hindi. Magnificent. What lyrics!!!

  • amazing

  • When was this recorded?? year?

    Thnx

  • ராஜா பால்ய வயதிற்கே கொண்டு போய் விட்டார்

  • great song, memories forever ........god bless IR for long life

  • superb song. spb rocks. even though i am a malayali, i love this song better than the kishore kumar version

  • proud to be a tamilian

  • ராஜானா ராஜாதாண்

  • For taking this tune,Kalyanji-Anandji gave Illayaraja one of their compositions-Kasme-Vaade(Upkaar-1967). Illayaraja used the tune in the song "Kanavu Kaanum" in one of the tamil films. So,this song was not copied in Hindi, but was exchanged. :-)

  • heyy... was shocked to listen to this - same as the Hindi classic "Neele Neele ambar par".. But 3 cheers to the one and only Raja - It was Bollywood hindi copying Mollywood Tamil, NOT the other way around..

  • dhooooolll

  • You want to know the difference between Mohan and Sivaji Ganesan (funny question, sure)? Watch Mohan's left hand on the guittar, he's just moving it back and forth. Guy didn't take the effort to learn how to act like playing the instrument. Then, watch Sivaji's fingers "acting" during the "Nalamthaana..." song in Thillaana mohanambal.

But a great song by, who else, Ilaiyaraja. How many great tunes and great memories! நன்றி இசைஞானி!

  • tamil is best ever

  • Y r u fighting over two legends??

U idiots are regional hypocrites...I am telugu guy saying this....I love both the versions...

Just enjoy the song and the divine efforts...

  • y dont u all shut the fuck up and listen 2 the fucking songs u retards .........

  • No credits for kishore this time for singing a lifted tune...

  • nic superb

  • The audio has been re-streamed with the video.

The stereo mix hasn't come out well. The left stream is just instrumental -- much like karaoke version. You don't hear vocals on the left stream. The right stream has both vocals and instrumentals as in the original.

  • yeah they copy Illayaraja from head to toe stupid hindi composers. No other work they have got except for claiming credit over other guy's work

  • hindians..ha ha ....man someone needs to grow up to be an indian . Dont limit illyaraja to smaal lanes of madras..he is a world class indian

  • 3.56 - 4.24 the best part....!!! hats off IR..

  • The young moon is pouring down

And it moistens all the way to the heart.

The cloud that is taing a walk

    will start dreaming.

The sky will begin to wear a festive mood.

On the way, the adolescent moon will get wet in the dew.

It will use the cloud to wipe the face and

continue to practice its gait till the dawn.

  • The clouds are taking out a procession in the streets of the sky.

    The scene gives solace.

It brings dream to the eyes of the young girl.

    The clouds are running scattered.

    Did they lose the address?

Are the rain drops tear drops

from the clouds that lost their address?

Silver streams flowing in the blue sky.

What a beautiful scene it presents.

Who sowed these precious jems in the sky?

  • Ilaya nila pozhigiradhe

    Idhayam varai nanaigiradhe.

    varum vazhiyil pani mazhaiyil

    paruva nila thinam nanaiyum.

    Mugil edithu mugam thudaithu

    vidiyum varai nadai pazhagum.

    Vana veedhiyil megha oorvalam

    Kanum podhile arudhal tharum.

    Paruva magal vizhigalile kanuvu varum.

  • Mugil inangal alaigiradhe Mugavariakal tholaindhanavo? Mugavarigal thavariayadhal azhudhidumo adhu mazhaiyo? Neela vaanile velli odaigal Oduginradhe enna jaadaigal? Vin veliyil vidhaithathu yaar navamanigal? Ilaya nila pozhigiradhe Idhayam varai nanaikiradhe Ula pogum megam Kana kanume Vizha kanume vaaname
  • Audio quality of this song is the best I have heard on youtube (compared to other postings of the same song).

  • this is one of the best of all the glorious 80's hits.....ilayaraaja is something more than a meastro.....it feels like ecstasy as the song enters your ears...no words to describe the beauty of the song.......

  • Guitar, SPB and Raji at its best

  • superb,......evergreen song...

  • Unbelievable guitar bits in the end...tam..tum..tam...Can I utter them

  • one of the all time hits

  • goo gracious, why are we fighting about the origin of the song or music? we like this song and Illayaraja is great, we dont mind where he gets his inspiration from, but he DELIVERS and thats all that matters

  • Ilayaraja.....he is god!

  • timeless song and composition, never grow tired of listening to this even after all these years

  • For the people who have commented that neele neele ambar was first composed, I can only do this - ha ha ha ha ha ...... Neele neele ambar was a copied one and it's no way comparable with the original Ilaiyaraja's version.

  • cool down my friend..just enjoy the good music..

  • Comment removed

  • nitin bali's nile nile ambar music video had become very popular both for d picturisation & d music when it released few years back & it was a huge success!

  • @mausamudeshi...r u nuts or what..get ur basics right...south copies from hindhi!!!!..huhhh....its always the other way round...40/50% hindhi films are copies of southern films be it tamil telugu or even malayalam...For the rest 50% the hindhi films depend on english films...lol...hindhi peoples hv done doctorate in copying or lifting...

  • Neele Neele Ambar is a copy. I like both! The person singing this has a very soft voice compared to aggresiveness of Kishoreda. Thanks for the song.

  • In addition, the guitaring at the very end is super! Illayaraja is just too damn good. SP does full justice to this song, and more. His live version is also too damn good. To the person who uploaded this song, you have made me very happy. Thanks so much :-)

  • This is such an awesome song!

  • Thats funny, no its not.

  • neele neele ambar is very amatuerish and funny... original is best...u asshole

  • Maestro Ilayaraja, you are awesome.. this is later copied to neele neele in hindi with little changes.

  • VERY NICE>>>

  • incredible song, wish they made another version with electric guitar, or they might ruin it....we'll never really know.

  • ராகங்கள் தாளங்கள் நூறு

    ராஜா உன் பேர் சொல்லும் பாரு

  • One of the very best! The guitar rocks!

  • VERDICT> Neele Neele Ambar was a remeke of Ilayanila.

  • Super!!1

  • It si not a mediocre tune. The tune is a perfect one.SPB describes the Shruthi-shuddham of the tune and the preciseness of the fugues in it.He also said, it took 23 takes to OK the song tune-wise and guitar notewise.

  • u must b on high 2 term this tune mediocre.

It was IR who lifted SPB to great heights not the other way around,

  • well said , and jesudas ,kamal ,rajni, heheh mohan ,mani, balu ,mahendran ,balchandr....

  • Awsome...... It just eases my presure.... exelent.... thanks for the post!

  • The song is in my favourite now !nice one man !

  • Awesome guitar beats!!! I am amazed by it... can anybody translate what the lyric means?? Hope I am not asking for too much... thanks! :)

  • The music is by Illayaraja a south Indian composer. The lyrics are very tough to translate to English. I will try to in the coming days.

  • Hi .. can someone tell me what is the name of this movie? Thanks a lot

  • Movie's name is Payanangal mudivathillai... you know, indiaglitz has launched a site, you can watch movies online for free.. this is official site... site is igcinema . com.... this is not a spam message! go to that site, click on tamil and then P and click on that film.

  • don't watch the movie. Great songs but a horrible movie. Look at the way he is moving his hands on the guitar and that should tell give you an indication of how bad the movie is.

  • sir can u please teach us how to play a guitar... U asshole shut your mouth and enjoy the moments.. indescent crap

  • You must understand that he is just an actor, he need be a guitarist to just portray that he is singing the song using the guitar.A good guitarist might be a poor actor on the otherhand. Then every actor should start learning what he is acting, which is well-nigh impossible. If the actor is in an operation as doctor, do you mean to say he has to get a medical degree to pose for a few minutes acting as a surgeon? You might say that again.

  • Super appa super, what else can I say.

  • Awesome song, buddy! Keep posting.

  • Amazing Song Loved it ! I liked it tranquality and uniqueness!

  • On its way, the swelling moon gets drenched deal in the rain of fog. Grabbing the clouds, wiping its face, it keeps advancing until dawn. On the space street, the sight of this procession of clouds gives solace and the eyes of the young girl start dreaming.

  • These clouds are loitering, have they lost their destination? When they lose their address lines and cry, is that rain? What is the destination of these ever-moving silver ponds in blue sky? Who has sowed these gems in space?

  • whoever you are , seriously you should start writing subtitles for tamil movies(especially for songs), the subtitles coming out are very bland, should i say.keep up the good work.

  • This is the best version.. listen to the guitar and the flute.. so you get that even in the recent movie songs..

  • This one cannot even be compared to Hindi (remix), not the song just the guitar in this song can speak ......i thnk u urself know it.

  • What's the hindi version? I've never heard of it.

  • its neele neele ambar pe.........sung by kishore kumar and music by kalyanji anandji. type it in and u will find the video...

  • Thanks, dude. :)

  • both Hindi and Tamil version are unique....since they are both sung by legends......SPB has such a soothing voice which sounds so sweet....however Kishor Kumar has put a more flamboyant twist in the Hindi song...which is also pretty good. So they are both unique.

  • @ amityaadav - Long Live Illayaraja, great work by him (and SPB)..In Hindi Version the guitar interludes & strokes are not as enjoyable & sharp as the Original Version here... those interludes also look bit amatuer with a persian touch during the notes.... This Original version is beyond comparision to the Hindi one...just listen to the CLEAREST guitar solos alone & compare to the Hindi one, you will understand/ feel it.

  • I agree, but the definition of "enjoyable" and "sharp" vary as everybody has some sort of unique taste, understanding, experience in music.

By the way, at any day I would prefer Ilaya Nila over Neele Neele Ambar Par.

  • fuck off....i have heard..both the version....tamil version is far far better than hindi version.....

  • @terminator758

No. Hindi version is better than tamil version in all aspect.

  • @umeshmaslekar ..Hey no way...May be you have first heard in hindi..makes your judgment wrong....

But understand the lyrics...you will get mesmerized ... its one of the rare songs where everything is perfect ..
