Zoroastrian pilgrimage in Iran

Zoroastrianism should be "promoted" as other religions have. Sure we live in the 21st century but this religion is the symbol of my being (Persian) and Islam is a satanic religion worshipped by mainly those forced to worship it. Zoroastrianism mentions that the world timeline is 12,000 years and every 3,000 years depending on the balance of good or evil, the following 3,000 years will take its shape. Zoroastrianism also mentions that today the evil has took over the world (Islam).

I am glad I saw this film from chek chek. Last year I went all the way from England to Yazd and then hired a car to take me to chek chek just see inside chek chek and Zorostrians' annual Haj ceremony but I wasn't allowed in, no matter how much I begged!! Watch out folks, don't go there unless you are Zorostrian or you stay outside!! No hard feeling though.

The reporter is wrong, Iran wasn't the "birthplace of Zoroastrianism". The religion was founded thousands of miles easternward in eastern Afghanistan and western Pakistan (as pointed out in the Avesta itself). It only spread westward in to modern day Iran much later.

As it happens, I don't feel the need to follow any religion. But if I did, I would follow Zoroastrianism, the religion of my ancestor which is based on 3 simple principles: GOOD THOUGHTS, GOOD LANGUAGE AND GOOD DEEDS.

Not anymore. Zoroastrians in india have been reduced to the status of a tribe, because they do not refuse converts. Also, many have left india to seek better opportunities for themselves abroad.

Even thought the majority of Persians are Muslim, many, especially the young are extremely secular and extremely nationalistic and proud of their Persian history, going all the way back to Achaemenid Empire.

Traditions like Nowruz, Persian Poetry, Persian Music & Architecture and the traditional higher respect for women in Iranian society all have pre-Islamic, Zoroastrian roots.

These things are as ingrained into the Persian identity as the Persian language is.

its sad to see that zoroastranism will die out due to the traditions of the parsi and the reluctance of the mobeds to convert people who want to be zoroastrians. zarathrustra wanted all people to be converts whether they were persians or not his message was universal.

@Aterkomsten no it wasnt not in the beginnig, the prophet zarathrustra went to all peoples with his message and he clearly stated in the gathas that his message was for all mankind, zoroastrinism in the past was against racial or ethnic distinctions it is only after the conquest of persia by muslims that zoroastrinism became a racial religion but, before then the religion was open to any one who wanted to be a part of it.

No problem - The Zoroastrians are an interesting people - a lot of Zoroastrians can also be found in India, although their customs are a little bit different from those in Iran.

4-- I can account you so many examples, but here just I will give you one example of Zoroastrian traditions being changed in Iran. During in terms mullahs regime, it has to be, it is of our new year, the Persian Nowrouz, because of the Alcohol ban by Islam, the tradition of setting the table with WINE or during Norouz has been eliminated and being replaced with Arabic alphabet letter and words, Many Iranian people have forgotten their real own heritage.

@Zarathushtras, Parsi has never changed, some of the Arabic words in parsi is only by religion of this cult of Arabia, if you actually trace Arabic it has over 70% of its language from Parsi as Iran ruled Arabia for over 1200 years, knowledge of science, medicine, mathematics, arts, crafts, music, instruments & so much more Arabs got from us & modified it & forget where they got what they have due to the fact education was never important to Arabs.
