  • shoudn't have chainged him

  • scarecrow: THE MOST DANGEROUS VILLAIN EVER!!

  • my worst nightmare.... scarecrow scared, joker frowning, and batman... oh god... SMILING

  • @harleyqish0t Joker frowns a lot.

  • @harleyqish0t

When Scarecrow is scared, you know something bad is going to happen. When Joker frowns, you know something bad is going to happen to YOU. When Batman smiles, you know something bad has already happened to you. Your brain just hasn't processed the information yet.

  • I used to be a scarecrow until I took a sparrow to the knee

  • I like the old Scarecrow better.

He seemed kinda defensless and scared all the time. And it whas so fantasic ironik.

  • chirstopher walken should of played scarecrow instead of max shreck

  • 'And at the end of fear: Oblivion..."

  • screcrow from arkahm asylum was freakier

  • 1st design - Oh, it's a scarecrow.

2nd design- Easily a horror movie character.

  • 0:42 Funny how people always look like the cartoon characters they produce.

  • @ExtremeAnalDischarge HAHAHAHAHAH

  • "The thing you fail to grasp is that people are not basically good. We are basically selfish. We shove and clamor and cry for adoration, and beat down everyone else to get it. Life is a competition of prattling peacocks enraptured in inane mating rituals. But for all our effacing and self-importance, we are all slaves to what we fear most. You have so very much to learn. Here. Let me teach you." -scarecrow

  • i don't understand why then they chance the joker in the new adventures, the second joker din't look threatening like the first one! why they din't use the look of the joker in justice league and return of the joker?

  • @FavioRiveros they had to change the looks of all the characters for budget issues but some were changed for the better such as this one

  • @FavioRiveros Unless I'm misunderstanding you, Justice League and Return of the Joker came after the New Animated Series. That Joker was a combination of BTAS and TNBA in those ones.

  • @FavioRiveros Justice League and Return of the Joker came after New Batman Adventures. The Joker shown in those hadn't been created yet and was at least partly inspired by this Joker. He was essencially the original TAS Joker in New Batman Adventure's outfit

  • The voice is perfect since the low tone gives a scay sound but its monotone to give off a psychiatrist for Dr Crane

  • best design ever.

  • Okay, this answered questions. I keep seeing clips of Batman the antimated series which look really awesome, but nothing like the ones I recently downloaded. I get it now, it's because the show changed so much over the years.

  • This revamp AND the Arkham Asylum Scarecrows are the best looks for the character. But I think Combs is the best VA

  • Combs did an awesome job.

    Reminds me of Byakuya too.

  • My favorite villain.

  • Best revamp.

  • WAAAAAIIIIIT (With a horse neigh at the end!) Jeffery Combs voiced Scarecrow?! THE TFP RATCHET VOICED SCARECROW?! WHAT A SHOCK!

  • They could've just made a scary looking Scarecrow. Give him a dead look. Sort of like how the creature looks on Jeepers Creepers when he was on the cross.

  • Oh cool, I didn't know they put Undertaker in a cartoon.

  • Okay so I've been looking through these, the designs look a bit different (alot in some cases) from TAS is this one named differently? Because I look up TAS and all I get are the old ones

  • Out of all the of the revamped versions Scarecrow and Killer Croc are the only ones that I like. I mean they made the Scarecrow look scary. He didn't look human anymore, it was like fear in human form. Killer Croc in the TAS was alright but he didn't look like a crocodile to me. The revamped was better and a lot slicker.

  • @J223522 I Agree! But Bane also looked better in the new series! XD

  • Comment removed

  • @J223522 The Worst Changes Were: The Joker, The Riddler, The Mad Hatter And The Penguin! Why are your comment flagged by the way?? XD

  • @RooX94 Oh, I made a mistake on the first comment and removed it myself. Anyway, The Joker was alright in my opinion I didn't hate it I just don't understand why they made his face look like Mickey Mouse, but The Riddler, Mad Hatter, and Penguin were definitely the worst.

  • @J223522 True there and they changed him back in BB And The JL Series but with black lips and a darker costume! I really didnt like The Ventriloquist/The Scarface, Catwoman Poison Ivy Or Mr. Freeze's changes that much either but the rest were OK! XD

  • @RooX94 Catwoman, Poison Ivy! XD

  • i like the snow flakes

  • Scarecrow the best one he was scary in arkham asylum

  • he is pretty scary...

  • I'll say this, Scarecrow's redesign in The New Batman Adventures was at least better than the raggedy pants and red sweater design in Batman:TAS.

  • The New Batman Adventures Scarecrow was pretty good compared to the one from TAS. The TAS version was basically a gag villain after his first showing.

  • Omg scarecrow sounds like transformers prime ratchet

  • @firebyrd2534,

Ratchet and Scarecrow are both voiced by Jeffrey Combs. Hope that helps.

  • He sounds exactly like Sutekh from Doctor Who! is it the same guy? (awesome voice).

  • @StrangeUnicorn1 Nah, that was Gabriel Woolf, this is Geoffrey Coombes. Both terrifically talented voice actors.

  • soooo.....is there a guy in that suit??

  • He is my favourate villain

  • I think it strays way too far from the original one..They should make him look more like a scarecrow on an evil level, but this is not that great...

  • Arkham Asylum Scarecrow is the best one ever.

  • I find his voice really sexy :D

  • Just a bunch of people patting themselves on a the back, thinking that they got Scarecrow right, when one of them admits that the design is far from be a Scarecrow. Btw, it just seems silly when he tries to hit Batman with a stick.

  • @drbjr99 Actually, I find that "western preacher" design the most elegant of them all.

  • scarecrow woudnt need his gas to scare me

  • Scarecrow is TOO scary for 34 people

  • God I miss the 90's I had fucking nightmares from this guy.

    Best times of my life.

  • Comment removed

  • Combs? I KNEW his voice sounded familiar.

  • Only 2 incarnations of Scarecrow have been scary and badass. New Adventures and Arkham Asylum.

  • all i know is that if i was face to face with scarecrow i would be fucking shitting myself

  • Scarecrow was the ONLY good redesign. Everything else sucked balls. The original Scarecrow was simply too comical and Joker like in that sense, like the Riddler.

  • @SackolfKnitler This redesign is too forgettable. When I think of Scarecrow, I instantly think of his second incarnation (the one in the early episodes, but not his first one). This redesign looks cool, but the whole 'reanimated corpse' look is too derivative. Besides, his regular form looking kinda silly doesn't really damage the character- Scarecrow himself isn't particularly scary, it's what he looks like to the victims of his gas which is terrifying.

  • scarecrow is nightmare fuel

  • Scarecrow had the best re-designs of the whole series.

  • It's almost Halloween, I see a kid dressed up as batman walking next to his mom. Suddenly, he starts singing, "nanananananana."

I was lmao, then his mom said, "David, stop singing."

Suddenly, the boy looked very serious, he said, "I'm not David. I'm Batman!"

I rofl, his mom was pissed.

  • The Scarecrow (Dr. Jonathan Crane) is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in World's Finest Comics #3 (Fall 1941) and was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane.

  • A psychologist who uses a variety of drugs and psychological tactics to exploit the fears and phobias of his adversaries, the Scarecrow is a member of Batman's rogues gallery; although he made only two appearances in the Golden Age of Comic Books, the character was eventually revived during the Silver Age of Comic Books by writer Gardner Fox and artist Sheldon Moldoff in the pages of Batman #189 (Feb 1967) and has since become a staple Batman villain.

  • The character of Scarecrow has featured in other DC Comics-endorsed products such as feature films, video games, animated television programs, and merchandise such as action figures. Irish actor Cillian Murphy portrayed the Scarecrow in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and will do so again in The Dark Knight Rises. In 2009, the Scarecrow was ranked as IGN's 58th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.

  • scarecrow is creepy as shit in arkham asylum

  • @mrmagetu

    He's waaaaay creepier in this.

  • This preacher scarecrow is better than the original...

  • This scarecrow > Original Scarecrow by far.

  • this or two face for halloween

  • I prefer the '92 and Henry Polic version 0:24

    He's just cute!"snif"

  • favorite batman villain... after joker obviously

  • I can agree that Scarecrow is difficult to portray; a guy who is obsessed with making people afraid should not have a Wizard of Oz look to him. I think they did a good job in Batman Rises of portraying him as a creepy, compulsive kind of guy, even if he is not physically intimidating.

  • @dkupke ...Begins?

  • @bigfatcarp93 Yeah, my mistake.

  • @dkupke Lol.

  • @dkupke What the hell is Rises? I thought he was in Begins and the start of Dark Knight.

  • @Pocoryu He did. But there is a third film in the works called The Dark Knight Rises, due to be released in the summer of 2012. I doubt Scarecrow will appear though-Bane is set as the main villain.

  • @dkupke This could be awesome. Scarecrow could come back seeing has he has been in both from the newer series of films.

  • @Pocoryu He may be reference, but probably not actually appear. The buzz is that Bane will be working on behalf of the League of Shadows in a capacity sort of like Scarecrow did in the first.

  • @dkupke Yeah I can see how it wouldn't work now. Kinda sucks really.

  • @dkupke apparently the actor, cilian murphy, was seen on the movie set so there may be a chance of him appearing in The Dark Knight Rises.

  • This guy and Poison Ivy were the only ones that actually looked better after the redesign, I think.

  • @AnomalyINC you are incorrect

    they were all worse

  • @LobsterPotsticker I cannot be incorrect if it is my opinion. You might not agree with me, but that is another thing all together.

  • I just don't see why people look down upon him compared to Two-face. Two-face had a tragic story. That's true; But Scarecrow uses fear as a weapon and pretty much scars or kills people. Plus he's a lot scarier and a lot more interesting.

  • does somebody know the name of the music played around 1:32? it sound awesomely scary... i would love to know

  • Comment removed

  • Scarecrow looks InSaNe!!!

  • So he was voiced by the same guy who did Question in JLU. He did a great job with both characters.

  • ....idk why no one ever thought he was scary......the original scarecrow *as well as every tack on him* has been the only batman character to freak me out. Scarecrows in general creep the heck out of me lol so thats prolly why.

  • I'm gonna say everything was excellent except the rope. That simply was not proper functionality.

  • Scarecrow is possibly the most underrated Batman villian of all. He's a guy that's got virtually no physical powers to his name, but he's cunning, intelligent, and uses psychology as a weapon. All he has to do is spray you once and you are consumed by your own fears as the Crow watches your mind decays with amusment.

  • @TheInstantClassic1 Not to mention that, in the comics, he was actually able to talk two inmates into committing suicide by playing on their fears and depression.

  • i love how he was designed in arkham asylum thats probably my favorite design

  • @oreosandmilk67

mine to, he always scared the crap outta me as a kid, i would have to watch the part hidding my eyes peeking through my fingers lol.(i was kid xD)

  • This is how Scarecrow should have been in Batman Begins & The Dark Knight movies, not some white collared bitch with a suit and mask

  • @AIRTUBEY that guy did a great job as scarecrow plus i think its better to hear him said ''would you like to see my mask'' than ''would you like to see my costume'' thats retarded

  • @chino19963 I Hate to disagree with you, but i wlll. Where was the hat and straw hair?

  • thumbs up if you think he looks amazing in batman arkham asylum =-)

  • I disagree on both counts, I dont think he looks better and I dont think the suit matches the character at all.

  • Scarecrow is one of my favourite Batman-villains, no matter how he looks, actually =)

  • The costume doesn't really need to be scary. Once you get a lungfull of fear gas, you'll be terrified no matter how he looks. That said, I do like the New Batman Adventures redesign, but I kinda miss his original voice. Also, like Dini said, it almost felt like there might not even be a guy in the suit.

  • i think the first scarecrow was ok but not perfect. the second scarecrow was perfection and captured the true essence of the character perfectly. the third was good but just wasnt scarecrow at all and was too ott. my personal favourite tho is the one in batman arkham asylum.

  • Stupid Bat-Embargo.

  • Scarecrow is awesome

  • The original Scarecrow looked goofy.

The second Scarecrow used to give me nightmares.

And I thank God that I never saw the third Scarecrow as a child.

  • the ne in the game- Arkham Assylum was really awesome!

  • Scarecrow is basically a cheating version of Batman- he uses chemicals instead of raw power and legend to induce fear. Of course, this works to his advantage as he is the only man alive who can make Batman cower in the fetal position.

  • The third design is the creepiest, but the way they made him on Batman Arkham Asylum is my personal favorite

  • bah. the new one was too over the top.

i liked how the old one was skinny. it contributed to the notion of crane as being a very fearful man. Scarecrow IS a coward, but this just makes him more insane and dangerous. When I was a kid I found him plenty scary.

  • @JustThink00

I didn't. Even as a kid, I never got the fear shtick from such a goofy get-up. The later one while they could've done better making it look like Scarecrow, it got the fearful appearance down better.

  • This voice actor reminds me of the creators voice of I have no voice and I must scream.

  • I love Scarcrow because he gets everyone high on LSD! Lol.

  • This was my favorite villain by far. Becaue whats more scary than facing fear itself

  • Scarecrow is my favorite Batman villain after the Joker. And he's the best boss in Arkham Asylum

  • Jeffery Combs' voice work as Scarecrow is very chilling..raspy, creepy. Yikes.

  • Batman The Animated Series: Cheesy

The New Adventures of Batman: Scary

    Arkham Asylum: Holy shit.................

  • When Scarecrow talks, he reminds me of Hannibal Lecture.

    That is scary.

  • im confused. the scarecrow had TWO different designs in the old animated series? im talking about the two outfits that look like scarecrows. when did he get that redesign from one scarecrow outfit to the other scarecrow outfit? and im talking about in the animated series, not in the new batman adbentures!

  • @alexpiccirillo1 Gosh, He got that new design in the The New Batman Adventures after the original animated series went on for 85 episodes. This is basically the redesign for the new series that came after Batman TAS.

  • @glitch164 u answered my question wrong.i specifically wrote "and im talking about in the animated series, not in the new batman adventures!" the scarecrow had two different designs in TAS. i wanna know what episode it changed...GOSH!

  • @alexpiccirillo1 In animated series, the first design is in Nothing to Fear, then they made a redesign in the episode fear of victory.

  • scarecrow did not even look like well a scarecrow in that :/

and fuck the makers of this scarecrows scare the shit out of me

  • sounds like the guy who voices the scarecrow is also voicing the Question in JLU?

  • I don't get their thinking. I always thought Scarecrow wasn't supposed to be scary until he gassed you, then you were terrified of him.

  • @AngusArmy001 If you are already scared of him then mix with his gas, you would probably have an overload.

  • @Tortuctor That is true, scared to death haha

  • Scarcrow is my favorite batman villein. The other design are good but I personally like this design of the scarecrow best. :)

  • I do not get why they think his first design was not scary, I thought it was the best and scarest looking. The second one looked cheesey and would expect from Brave and the bold, while the one in new adventures looked like a typical slasher film character and bland. The first had a great ghost like quality with the toothless mouth and the pubiless eyes. It felt something very evil and not of this world, giving chills down the bone. Anyone agree?

  • @Darthzilla99

I agree! totaly. This one *points to the screen* always scared teh crap outta me lol i'd be covering my eyes until it was over xD

  • @Darthzilla99

I don't. I do think it was "scarier" then the 2nd redesign though. The initial 2 designs though are better as Scarecrow though. The 3rd while I think it's the creepiest, I as a child didn't think Scarecrow.

  • i wish they used his look here in batman arkham asylum :(

  • @superlosia1234 Arkham Asylum's Scarecrow looked like Freddy Krueger in a way and i guess the producers thought it would be too laid back.

  • @superlosia1234 arkham asylum came out after this show was cancelled

  • and at the end of fear, oblivion

  • or like the one in batman arkham asylum!!!

  • i think i like the desine at 0:39 the best because thats the way the scarecrow should look. rater then a dum cowboy skeliton.

  • best vilan

  • anyone else think thats kinda scary seeing Scarecrow run up the stairs?

  • Compare the Scarecrow from 0:32 to the one seen in Batman Arkham Asylum :D

  • If only scarecrow was like this in the movie.

  • I love this scarecrow. He's the best! He looks like an undead western preacher!

  • I have some full episodes from the animated series check them out

  • Ha!! I remember that voice....He also VA'd The Question from Justice League.

  • what's the name of the episode when they fight scarecrow on the roof and batgirl falls of the roof?

  • @155Maki Over the Edge from The New Batman Adventures.

  • by the way what series are these?

name of the series if you will

  • @voltex12345 its "the new batman adventures"

  • @svb5942 oh my goodness thank you so much so much so much <3

  • They might as well have rectoned his back story and said that he was undead.

  • Actually that doesn't sound like bad backstory, give the origin of being a man that was into studying effects of fear and was hanged for it and have an origin that he came back as a zombie.

  • This show turned Scarecrow from lame villain to awesome villain. Right up there with Joker, Two-Face, and Penguin imo.

  • he'd go great with poison ivy

    :D

  • @voltex12345

    Definitely :) Great couple

  • @nastyplot555 both like to mess with people's minds

one with fear the other with lust

    drugs and hormones

    really a great couple

  • @voltex12345

Drugs + Hormones = Sex and Drugs

    Aaaaw ... Yeah xD

  • @nastyplot555 you!!!

    you hilarious!!!! XD

  • I don't think Crane appreciates you guys calling him "un-scary"

  • i like the scarecrow verson in Batman arkyham asylum.

  • a bullet is never just a bullet with these guys

  • I think this is ripped off of Caleb from the Blood series.

  • actually i thnk the scarecrw from batman beings was great more realistic

  • My favourite version of Scarecrow is the picture in Arkham Asylum character bios

  • @Petersaberros yeah, the scarecrow from Arkham Asylum was brilliant
