My brother had this film on VHS when we were younger. The parts with the heart-ripping, holding the heart while chanting, the victim burned on screen and the big cultist crushed by the grinder were cut out.
This Indiana Jones movie is my favorite. Has been since I was younger and this one scene was what made the movie so much better. Along with the storyline and what not of course, but this movie has been my fave since I was younger and me mum let me watch it. Was such a corrupt little child back then.. Heh, still am..

Most of the devotees at our community mandir (DC area USA) are of Bengali origin. Some are vegetarian, but most eat meat and fish. Here the best we can do is to offer it (really we should offer all our food) with at least a mantra, to Devi. Ramakrishna said, better that one eat pork but have love of God in the heart. The Sri Sri Chandi, is amazing!

I always loved Indiana Jones movies - entertainment to watch. OK, I was disappointing (a little bit) with 2 things - Marion (Karen Allen) was absent here and that Chinese kid looked more clever/brave than Indiana. They overtried with this one.
Anyway it was classic of all Adventure movies. Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw and Jonathan Ke Quan were brilliant.

This Indiana Jones movie is my favorite. Has been since I was younger and this one scene was what made the movie so much better. Along with the storyline and what not of course, but this movie has been my fave since I was younger and me mum let me watch it. Was such a corrupt little child back then.. Heh, still am..

i watched every movies of indiana johnes...i liked all the three movies of the series except this one...Because this movie has shown hinduism in India in such a degrading manner...i am sure the persons behind this movie did not have any idea of hinduism...particularly, if you watch the scene of the dinner where the guest is offered monkey brains, live snakes, scorpions to eat!!!...it is absolutely sick and degrading.
No wonder this movie is officially banned in India.

For the rest, though, how much more civilized it is to offer the animal to Maa first, than to buy meat in a grocery store, meat that came from a slaughterhouse that certainly did not offer it to Maa. The Srimad Devi-Bhagavatam, and Manu Smriti (see 5:30 & 5:36), are clear: no sin exists in the sacrifice, or the eating of meat.

@dswaroop1001 I am a "pale white American" who through two miracles of Kali, became formally initiated as a Shakta Hindu priest in a Bengali lineage. Most of the devotees at our community mandir (DC area USA) are of Bengali origin. Some are vegetarian, but most eat meat and fish. Here the best we can do is to offer it (really we should offer all our food) with at least a mantra, to Devi. Ramakrishna said, better that one eat pork but have love of God in the heart. The Sri Sri Chandi, is amazing!

Actually he was a very popular actor of indian cinema and after this movie he got a lot of offers from hollywood but he decided not to take up any of the other roles . Steven Spielberg said "Amrish is my favourite villian and there will be no one better than him ever ".

I always loved Indiana Jones movies - entertainment to watch. OK, I was disappointing (a little bit) with 2 things - Marion (Karen Allen) was absent here and that Chinese kid looked more clever/brave than Indiana. They overtried with this one.
Anyway it was classic of all Adventure movies. Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw and Jonathan Ke Quan were brilliant.
