  • I luv the video... Wow been a while...

  • It's too bad she didn't have more success. This is a great song.

  • thumbs up if you got here because of jan johnston's sleeping satellite.

  • her voice is amazing...

  • se pude-semos escuchar las voces de los ángeles... esta seria una de ellas.

  • She deserved more success...beautiful voice!

  • unbelievable....what a voice

  • I dont know the technical term but I like the way she uses the mic as an extension of her voice.

  • beautiful voice, really.

  • Absolutely amazing!! Heard this in my early teens and still one of the most beautiful dramatic songs I have in my fave list of all time!

  • awsome voice!

  • I love this song

  • still sounding great tasmin nice coat

  • i have been playing this song since 92. i break it out at least twice a year. still amazing!

  • Love this song, unearthly.

  • Some people are asking about facial expressions and arching her back - what Tasmin is demonstrating here very effectively, is really excellent mic control. Watch carefully and you can see her either move her head away from the mic or the mic away from her mouth when she reaches highs, louds and crescendos. An excellent example of live singing with very little (and not very good) accompaniment.

  • @bassman250159

Not only is she effectively controlling the mic but she's arching her back and keeping her head pointed predominantly upwards so the airflow can flow more freely rather than have to change direction. Also notice how at the beginning she places her hand flat over her diaphragm, she's mentally connecting with her diaphragm and her hand is the measuring device or censoring device for that process.

  • why does she keep screwing her face up and arching back? lovely song though

  • @hpsns why do people like you ask stupid questions? lovely song though

  • What a beautiful voice! I love this song! She sings like an angel! I looooove this! All the very best to you Tasmin. You're a huge contribution to music!

  • years ago I listened to this song in trance version. I loved it!!!

  • When i first heard her, i imagined she was white with long straight hair wearing leather jacket with acoustic guitar. Then one day i saw her on the internet, and i can't believe it was her, her voice is really different from other female artists, i still admire her, she rocks!

  • You are so right Rooneypoos! Great use of a lovely-if-wispy voice.

  • This song is probably in my top ten alltime songs! Her first album is a favourite of mine but her second album did nothing for me! Shame she showed such potential.

  • It is so wonderful to see you here in Youtube and hear your beautiful voice. Thank you, Tasmin Archer.

  • great voice, but i will have to agree that her facial expressions during the performance show almost super-human effort put in singing, something i would regard as unnecessary

  • Amazing voice and song - have been listening to this loads lately...2011 baby!!! DCx

  • 10/10 tasmin

  • Unbelievable Tasmin!!! Your voice will ring in my ears forever!!

  • one of the most underrated singers ever

  • une voix superbe

  • great song, great voice but those faces shes pulling.... jeeze

  • what is there not to like about this song

  • I just Love it

  • One of the most remarkable voices ever....!!!

  • tear* i heard this at work and omg i almost cried right there =D

  • Success does not meassure talent. She couldn't be bigger. She is already huge.hip hop and not talented artists sell a million copies, does it made them good music or artists?

talent and art are not always massive.you are confuse talent with being massive.

van gogh was not massive.was He a bad artist?

Wagner was not massive, was He a bad artist?

EDGAR ALLAN POE WAS NOT MASSIVE.

  • @masterpatric07 You're are right man! i agree :)

  • Love Tasmin, and I love her album. Great Expections was one of the best albums ever, and she should have been bigger star. Needs to be on Lilith Fair. Hope other singers are picking up her songs because she is an ace songwriter.

  • Hauntingly beautiful...... Oh the 90's i blame you!!

  • Did she arrive on one of special blue buses

  • top 90's song! I carry this always with me on my phone ..

  • GOD Bless the 90s!!

  • Looooove her, what a voice.

  • exellent.!!

  • Одна из самых прекрасных композиций 90-х...

  • beautiful singer and song

  • WOW!!!!!!!

    saludos

  • I like her voice!!!

  • wayyy wonderful!!

  • Listen to the kyrics people, And remember what the songs about. Humankinds Greatest Afdventure. Apollo XI. Thank you.

  • Check Out My Version Of It On My Channel Here

  • its such a classic and beautiful and intelligent song..

but it kinda makes me sad...

  • Gorgeous as always, Tas. :) Beautiful. /big hugs/ Hope you're well, honey.

  • Gorgeous soulful performance by a highly underrated singer/songwriter

  • El tema era perfecto...hasta que recién hoy supe que era negra...XD

  • ¿Y el hecho de que sea negra hace que el tema sea peor y ella no tenga una voz preciosa? Deberías revisar tus prejuicios.

  • @Catmastermix CHINGA TU REPUTA MADRE RACISTA DE MIERDA.

  • Why is she always looking to the sky?????

  • @amed71

The song is called "Sleeping Satellite" and it's about the moon landing. The moon is in the sky, I think.

  • @amed71 son't forget that the moon is the satelite of the earth

  • Damn! Tasmin still sounds excellent, and the song was released 16 years ago! I wish she'd made it bigger in the US.

  • An underrated artist who should have made it much bigger

  • @bretty1959 agree totally

  • to atena013 and Kickassplayer19, lets put you on stage by yourself in front of thousands of people to sing a song and lets see the facial expressions you pull.

She is simply singing and putting in 110% and probably not even thinking about facial expressions, you obviously don't understand the first thing about singing you idiots!!!!....Great song, great singer

  • Always loved Tasmin..........she is British, i believe.......

  • I think she did very well!! Excellent actually! The track is 16yrz old by the time she sung this which means she is 16yrs older then the video. Not much singers can still belt out there own songs and still make it sound album quality.

  • she still has a kick ass voice, but i think her facial expresion is a bit 2 much

  • killer voice but little bit overacting :D

    looks a bit stupid ;)

2:30 lmfao "got a burger in my hand" priceless xD

  • Great song!

  • wow 16 years after the release of this piece of art its still performed perfectly by tasmin, what a talent she got!

  • She gives 150% of her performance! Well done and very committed. Due to it got very silent about Tasmin Archer, it is interesting to see, that her face is still very beautiful. But I think, she got a littlebit stronger.

  • didn't hear much of her after the release of this single. she's still good although she can't reach the notes as much and as high as the original. i still love you and the song, Tasmin :)

  • she was younger when she sang this song, she doesn't sing as well as she could. yet still SOO Amazing!!

  • shes singng up to the satellite

  • Awesome singing.

  • Simplemente, Hermoso!

  • Real catching voice, somehow...

  • Why isn't she rotating xD

  • Comment removed

  • @Davisrullzs

    :D

But this key is too hard for her now(

  • @Davisrullzs ahahaha you're hilarious

  • @Davisrullzs toooo funny! hilarious!

  • @Davisrullzs Why isn't she rotating? Because she is a sleeping satellite!

  • Wow - I love her vocal performance.

  • крутая англичанка.ура!рулит.по любому.

  • Amazing song and a fantastic performance. The original is to me still one of the best sounding tracks ever - and I'm in love with that b3 solo on it... :-)

  • Beautiful, perfect performance :-)

  • genious

  • SIMPLY THE B E S T :)))

  • zeramus24 - can you tell me where i can get more info on the meaning of this song?

It's been in my sub-conscience for ages.

  • Her voice is really nice but looks loke a good mic and some reverb can make miracles. Great performance! I like that black woman!

  • This song is about the abilities we lost after the fall of Atlantis and Lemuria. Its like shes singing on our behalf to our higher self and consciousness.

  • Ya the sound is very good but the whole preformanse is like karioky

  • Damn this has better sound then the CD. Was a brilliant song.

  • Fuck me, as a sound engineer, I'm saving this to my playback device as an example of perfect live mic technique to show to inexperienced performers.

  • @rooneypoos I like the way she controlls the mike from whisper to strong voice without destroying the sound.

The sound technician had some serious COJONES too. :)

When her voice develops to the max she'll be a killer!

  • Hard to sing live like this

  • Briliant hi from CROATIA land of thousands islands!

  • when i saw her for thye 1st time i wanted to marry her!!!

  • i love you tasmin. fantastic performance. Brilliant

  • so nice. one of the best songs iv ever heard!

  • What a voice!!!

    Absolutely love this song!:-)

  • Brilliant, Shame about the faces shes pulling with each note....

  • inspiring..what a great song, great voice, great performance for sure great person Tasmin.

  • Always loved this song - what a great acoustic version!

  • for long time my favorite song and today too ! hi from québec canada !

  • goosesbumps ......

  • Wow!!!... I listened to her in the 80's, and had never seen her face before now. (What a beautiful range of Pitch She has, arcapellego... (or however Ya spell it!).... LOL, and smiling!~~~~

  • Love this!!! Thanx!

  • beautiful

  • She has a great voice and I love this version of the song.

  • what a pure, soul filled, talented voice!!! raw and brilliant!!, you stand there and sound that good with an acoustic

  • OMGAH!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting this.

  • Rare version!!!! I love Her!!!!!!

    Does her voice sound forced??

  • Comment removed

  • i think does sound a little forced and slightly out of tunes some parts in this version in my opinion but i love Tasmin Archer anyway, they should have deserved more recognition

  • Throughout! I like Tasmin also (and I would sing this song)

  • Great voice :)

  • It was awesome then and its still awesome now.

  • whats so great about seal singing it ???

  • I loved this song when it came out. This is my first time seeing her live. She has great control over her voice. That is a hard song to sing with all it's dynamics. All I can say is she (still) ROCKS!

  • Still got the voice!

  • the song and the woman...both awesome

  • she`s weird ! :|

  • if you can judge someone so quickly then you are the one who is wierd

  • dude you are a racist fuck

  • what you put onto me is what is within yourself...you are the one who is pre-judging someone that you have never met...peace light and love

  • Well said.

  • The guitar player SUCKED and even in a lower key she is singing for her life here...not good...

  • usually live concerts are good but I have to say that this awesome! =D

  • getting closer, folks - this sung by JM, so cool - but I'd also love to hear it reworked as the Seal/Tasmin duet.

bite me, Heidi - (yep, that would probably be what it would take to get that to happen...)

james marsters/ ghost of the robot good night sweet girl

  • my dream song? don't know yet, but it's a cool duet between her and seal.

and i can wait. for that i can wait. for that i'll happily wait forever.

  • F*ckin fabulous!

  • Same ! One hit wonder ! But still a very good song ! Germany :-)

  • I love Tasmin's voice.Furthermore,"Sleeping satellite" is one of the best songs ever to me!France

  • Wow great version love it!She looks really nice to!

  • what an amazing voice.

and i agree, good to see a singer that doesn't have to strip on the stage.

  • No me gusta nada la guitarra. Para escucharla así prefiero acapella.

  • Great voice, great song.

  • lush tune/voice. Shame she didn't do any other good tracks. This eqoustic version is far superior to the original.

  • Wonderful song, wonderful voice.

  • voice of an angel,georgeous

  • super bien jejeje

  • big difference between true singers suck as tasmin and ... "lady gaga" is the she can actualy sing and perform a song LIVE. u can see she feels the song.. dont have to get her clothes off.. get real young boys..

  • such* as

  • the real problem is that even real talents such maria Cary , beyonce, shakera is acting this days like bitches more than singers and thus they all lost their magnificent .

  • whatta voice! i love this song

  • This song was HUGE when it first came out in '92. Very few artists can claim to have their debut single scorch right up the charts to #1 right out of the box -- Tasmin Archer did just that. In Canada I remember this song being all over the airwaves at the time, and even today it still gets airplay. This is a true classic -- thoughtful lyrics and Archer's incredible vocal range make this a song for the ages. Her voice is still awesome today -- just wish she had more monster hits like this one...

  • Beautiful! I love live versions of songs when the singer is as good as this.

  • her version of this will not be forgotten

she sings its with such emotion, it has

a feeling to it that fills the soul with...joy

    thank you

    tasmin

  • You get fuckin Pussycat Dolls or shitty Lady Gaga (what kinda retarded name is that anyway) flashing their tits and asses on TV and all of a sudden they are "stars"... While real talent and surreal voice like this get pushed behind and eventually forgotten...

  • umm...Lady Gaga can actually sing...

  • Can she? Sorry, didn't really notice... Couldn't hear it of all the electronic editing. Maybe she should've payed someone to think of a better name for her, instead of spending that money on some DJ to edit her voice... Maybe then I would have noticed how talented she really was?

  • lol, you're right, that's the problem with her.Her voice is amazing, but her music and style is kinda crap.

  • I fucking fucking fucking hate this song.

  • One of the most talented (and, sadly, underrated) artists ever...

  • A pesar de haber pasado tantos años, esta hermosa cantantante supo cuidar su muy linda y unica voz (L) =)

  • WHAT A UNIQUE SONG !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • timeless classic. your a winner, im a fan!!!

  • i love that "we wonder why" part.. <3

  • Absolutely love this song! From the first time I heard it I was captured by your beautiful voice and the energy from this song. I think you should re-release or promote it again today. Even though it has been done before I think it would grab many new listeners. Still to this day it sounds fresh and uplifting. Many people have not heard this song but I know if they had you would have an entirely new Decade of fans as if it was released for the first time ever.

  • Beautiful.

  • Gracias Tasmin, otra vez...

  • This is such a classic song - Brilliant!

  • Your voice and performance style has me transfixed Tasmin. Looks like you're really living this song. Still.

The song sounds as good today as you it did back then and the bare bones backing takes it to a different place altogether - almost prefer this to the original.

    Beautiful!

  • bellissima voce vellutata tasmin io ti amo

  • TIMELESS

  • This gave me goosebumps!!!

  • She is absolutely great

  • This is a case of complete underrated talent-perhaps among the most of all time.

Who can tell me she cant sing with the very best voices on the planet.

    Shes truly amazing-bottom line.

  • I can't find the version that was played on the radio that had a piano interlude. All the versions I hear on youtube have an organ musical interlude.

  • Beautiful

  • I love it!

  • la aaaaaaaamo
