actuall a High Velocity .22 round can fire at apx. 1500fps at the muzzel. you tell me that wont imcapaciated or kill a person? BTW some 9mm shoot with less muzzel velocity than many .22's some 9mm fire at apx. 900fps. its more about the size of the lead/bullet than the size of the powderload. anyone who dosn't give the .22cal round the resepct it deserves, needs to be shot by one and find out, IMHO.

No what im saying is that the muzzel velocity out of this specific pistol is lower than a "high velocity" .22 out of a different .22 pistol. Yea the size of a .22 is a little less than 1/2 the size of a 9mm so i have a feeling that a 9mm is more effective than a .22, and lets not forget that im actually backing a .45. Im not saying a .22 wouldnt injure/kill a normal person but it doesnt knock everyone down which is a problem.

The merit of a 22 magnum is that it has all the penetration needed to hit ANY vital organ within the human body, its deficit is that it makes a "pinhole" wound and the bulet really wont expand to any degree unless it hits bone.

A .22lr won't make those numbers coming out of a pistol/revolver barrel, it will make about 1000 fps with a hyper velocity bullet and of course lower energy. They do the testing out of rifles for .22lr.

No one said anything about your .45 or you in particular. Why do you have so much (muzzle) energy? You suggested a probability that one would not feel the hit from a .22. I merely offered the alternate that no one wants to look into the barrel of even a mouse gun. Nor to be shot with one. It is hard to argue against the idea that sometimes the big gun gets left at home or in the vehicle. If you despise the .22 then why troll these pages? The best advice comes from real experts.

you have muzzle velocity due to the rifling and barrel length. the rifling spins the bullet so that it has more stability going through the air thus giving you a more accurate shot, and barrel length can have a factor in the pressures behind the round thus expelling it faster out of the barrel. i also didn't say one wouldn't feel a .22, i did say that a .22 wouldnt necessarily kill a person if that was your ultimate goal in self defense. thats why police departments carry .45's opposed to a....

the useful range of the .45 colt/410 that i have shot was about 5 yards before the bullet tumbles or the pellets scatter to no use.

I was planning on getting an NAA Black Widow, but then I saw the Pug and I want the Pug... still... it would be nice to have the .22lr option. Thanks again for posting this video. You can still own black powder firearms in the UK (where you have to load the bullet and powder by hand from the muzzle), including revolvers. Probably still insane red tape though. You guys need a revolution.

In fact there is a black power version of this gun (called "black widow?")...you might wanna look into it...it might be technically possible for you to own one...if you're lucky enough that they're actually (legally) exported to the UK.
