the only bad thing Ive complained about movie file is Aspect Ratio 4:3 , in the player settings I got Wide screen 16:9 , I get a square box picture. box is no fun. I want to watch it wide screen as I selected in the settings. so this means I got go back to the setting put the aspect setting in the play back to Normal screen...... it dose not upscale the video 4:3 movie file to wide screen. .......WD TV should put Auto setting in Aspect ratio. so it will Automatically select media Aspect.
@camboy1132 actually... think logically, you cannot not scale the 4:3 to widescreen. either one of this . 1. stretch it to widescreen... but it looks really retarded. 2. crop the video, but that's even more stupid, you have 4:3 which is cropped from the original one, you lost alot of images, now you want to crop it more? ... the problem is with your video file, not the player.
I bought a WD TV Live Plus model a month ago, and IT ROCKS!
Everything I need from a HTPC, but in a user-friendly, tiny little box with all the connections I need for Full HD video and sound. Even my mother-in-law can use all it's features without scratinch her head. Video output is superb and crisp.
I have one my mother has one and we keep having trouble, now we can´t play VIDEO_TS files (DVD) over the network, no pictures with all videofiles and no more YouTube in HD as promissed. Lot´s of other problems are solved since I posted this but you don´t want to know how many hours I have spend to get this baby working...much over 50 hours, maybe a 100!
From what I have read and I don't know if this is true or not but it was said in order to do Netflix it needed a special "authentication" chip to stream movies from Netflix. Then again how could they make the Wii able to stream Netflix without any special chip?
I just ordered a Plus but I am upgrading from a 1st generation WD TV so it doesn't sting as much. If I had a live and needed Netflix I'd be a bit miffed as well.
this is how they treat there customers poorly.why dont they offer an Up for the wd tv live 2 gen.so that those people can have netflix.that is very mean of the company.this show they dont care about there exciting costumers.I went to BestBuy today and bought the plus then I witch the 2 boxes and returned 2 gen.and got my money back no questions asked.they never new I switch them 2.Im not sorry for doing what I did, they do not want to fix the bugs.they do this on purpose well I'm happy now
