  • everytime i try running my sql is saids running then goes back of saying busy.

  • thanks !

  • Good tutorial to help people to learn the basics. Xampp also comes bundled with php and mysql which are critical if you want to run a local version of wordpress or something simular. Deleting files in your root directory 'htdocs' will complicate your install if you plan on using databases. My advice (what I used in the past) would be to read the step by step installation tutorial in the book 'Wordpress for business bloggers' if you want to install wordpress locally using Xampp.

  • For enterprise grade FREE and paid web hosting , visit UBservers. com

Try it risk free, upgrade anytime

  • Borring!!! Use the wizard and click next with that sleepy voice? get a life teenager!!!

  • Whenever i try to open xampp it says

"Installer integrity check has failed.Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy."

  • what do i do port 80 is in use it wont let me use apache please help!!!

  • Damn you are definitely not talking too loud. Are you a shy person?

  • i download it .but i get zip file..!!

  • get winrar

  • yeah, 7-zip file, me too... you probably get 1.7.1 instead of 1.6... ? because I download 1.7.1 exe and that's in 7-zip, lucky I got winrar & 7-zip xD

  • Download the .exe file, not the .zip file.

  • thank you - thank you

  • i pretty much have the same setup as you, but i cant get to phpmyadmin. it says "phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server."

    any idea?

  • make sure mysql runs

  • This is fucking me off

    Everything has 'Running' beside them.

Apart from Apache? And I also cant go to 'localhost'

    Any ideas

  • Thanks for the video!

I feel as if the audio could be louder (I'm using a laptop with the master volume tuned all the way up), but otherwise, it was helpful.

  • Isn't the installation of XAMPP for Windows Vista identical to installing it for Windows XP? The ApacheFriends offer the same installation package, and you follow the same procedure to set it up.

  • So what, your telling me that I am a bad person because I made a video to further help those who are new at this?

  • No, I was unsure if the XAMPP installation is any different in Vista. I appreciate your videos so keep it up ;)

  • You are BBBBAAAAADDDDDDDDDD !! man. Bad to the bone !

  • an not so new - sometimes its just vista thats a pain - thanks 4 your help

  • Thanks so much!

I couldn't get my php script to show up. But one I cut out that index file, it all showed up.

You saved me a lot of frustration I know I was in for.

    You rule dude!

  • Thanks for your video. I followed your instruction, but nothing works. No MyPHPAdmin. I have been working on this for days. Please what am I doing wrong?

  • hmmm? you on vista or xp? email me this would be easier. airforceones7[at]gmail[dot]com

  • Vista

  • it should start when you start the control panel...

  • Go to skype, tools, options. In the options menu, go to advanced, and then connections. There should be a little box you can uncheck for port 80.

  • hmm, well are you trying to run it as a server for others or just a local, testing server, if so just type in localhost in your browser and you need to open no ports. if so try google =]

  • useful video for those who want to make a site and dont know how to set up a server.
