The Rav4 4wd also has a locking differential which gives it superior off road capabilities over the CRV.

Just do a search on youtube on how many CRVs are fished out of mud/snow/ice/water by a Rav4

Have a 2009 CRV EXL it seems underpowered would like it better if they had a V6 Option...Fuel Economy on my AWD is about 21 to 22 mixed driving...Now i am a lead foot and all...All around love this car....Might opt for a bigger Pilot or Comparing car next time.

@Jlng09 Pilot is like a rear wheel drive giant CR-V and it will off road like a son of a bitch. Do it. Plus the v-6 shuts down on highway and turns itself into a inline 3-cyl, gets great mileage for a truck so big and brawny. Honda ridgeline is the grandaddy of them all and if you like chevy 4x4 trucks...you will LOVE a ridgeline.

My only complain about this car is the Off-Road performance, the new 4WD system in this model is downgrade from the 1st Gen 4WD system. My dad has 2000 CRV, and it is more capable off road than the 2009-2010 model. Anyway, I still think this is a good car for city, long trips, some bad roads and bad weather....and it is also beautiful with the right wheels and tires!.

About Rav4: Please stop comparing all cars with Rav4, because Rav4 SUCKS!

just warning you guys in college we intended on a road trip from new york to Cali, and my friend insisted on taking his crv, no problems with the ride or mileage. It just 3 full grown men and 2 women= very very cramped ride. It absorbed the bumps kinda poorly(maybe because of the extra stuff in the trunk and people weight). Other than that it was alright. BTW don't go above 70mph in this thing the engine starts acting weird

my cousin's 99' CRV couldn't make it up moderate hills on the highway w/o the cruise control kicking out...

he's now in a Rav V6 and it has no power issues.

CRV's are great on gas though, but completely boring and balless.

It's made for midgets or when you have the need to drive 2 extra people on a short trip. Anyways, you don't have to buy it.

One thing Honda failed on is to make the CRV fuel efficient. The Rav4 V6 gets the same fuel consumption than the CRV's 4 cylinder. The 4cyl Rav4 does BETTER. CRV back seats also don't fold flat. CRV = FAIL.

i need to warn you all i have one of these and it sucks, poor handling and terrible power, the power is not consistent and its terrible in snow and rain, even wet grass makes it unstable when even i drive it in the snow its slipping up all the time...

I personally test drove both and the Crv is by far more fun to drive, besides I don't want to hurt anybody or myself when driving a toyota if the gas pedal gets stuck to the floor.

At the end, it all comes down to personal choice, that is why Crv's are sold more than any other vehicle in the world.

I have the new CR-V, and I cannot ask for anything more! With everything u want in a luxurious, somewhat powerful SUV. For a 4Cly engine, it will really surprise you. I don't even have to lay the pedal to the floor to get the results I am looking for. I really do recommend this if you want power, reliability, and great gas mileage! I also can pull a pretty good variety of stuff with out overloading it. Such as our boat and our camper. Separately of course.

they got better off road capabilities and more durable, my friend had this new cr-v and bump into a pole and it was a huge wrecked, but with my uncle's old cr-v i accidently threw a bat and hit its hood and there's no wrecked, just a very little scratch!!!!
