Its a real "close" copy of a K98K Mauser that was not in service until 1948 with the Yugos. The K98K was made by the Germans from 1935-1945

I have a real K98K made 1941 in Berlin GERMANY. (WW2 1939-1945.)

I can tell it's not real K98K Mauser because the upper hand guard extends past the rear sight. an K98 ends at the rear sight. What you have is a M48. It's a Yugoslavian Mauser copy. It's a nice gun, but no history of lour.

if ud like to know actually any G98 is more accurate than a springfield becasue of A: a longer barrel thus having more velocity, the 8x57IS is heavyer thus having a greater effective range, the heavyer the bullet the less it looses velocity over range

yes but if the bullet is too heavy it wont have enough power to get out those sort of ranges, as seen with hunting cartridges like the 44mag, and .30-30

I don't think rifle rests were too popular in Germany during the war... Oh wait, they didn't have them! And dude, get some stripper clips, they will make your life a lot easier. Don't forget to get some amo pouches with em. Watch your stance because you seem to be a little bit rough around the egdes when it comes to handling the kick which isn't large. It looked like you stuffed those rounds with rocket fuel or something, and please spare us the costume.

Buy yourself some stripper clips. It will make reloading your K98 a lot faster. Make sure you get the steel two-piece clips, such as the Yugoslavian 8mm clips. Pretty cheap on ebay.

7.92x57, to be completely accurate. Don't forget the length measurement. There's a big difference between 7.62x39, x51 & x54R. If someone just says 7.62, how am I to know which. 7.92 could refer to the Kurz round, too.

it is 7.92, but to call it 8mm is correct, it's 8mm Mauser ammunition. Though not really correct from a mathematical standpoint it's how the ammunition is and has been sold.
