For all you who think it wasn't in 4wheel at the time, well we never saw the other side of the vehicle, the driver side front tire might have been spinning too, can't tell from this video. Still, tires make a big difference, the other thing that would have helped is a locking rear diff, not something stock in Fords except maybe the newer models. Still most issues are how a vehicle is equipped and who is driving it that make the biggest difference.
@TeamReflexed Depends on the limited slip, most limited slip only deliver 20% at best 40% power to the non-slipping tire and since this is a super duty F250 developed mainly for hauling and towing, off road capability probably isn't high priority since that kind of activity would burn up a standard limited slip in no time. Even G80's in towing vehicles won't last forever, the clutch plates in mine wore out at about 150,000.

Silly texans can't handle snow. You know that knob on the dash that says "2H, 4H, 4L" - you're gonna want to set that to "4H" and try again. Contrary to what a gm owner may believe, the "4x4" logo on the rear quarterpanel isn't actually what makes the truck have four wheel drive. You need to engage that yourself.

Silly texans can't handle snow. You know that knob on the dash that says "2H, 4H, 4L" - you're gonna want to set that to "4H" and try again. Contrary to what a gm owner may believe, the "4x4" logo on the rear quarterpanel isn't actually what makes the truck have four wheel drive. You need to engage that yourself.

@wtl1964 i don't get that, mine isn't some new heavy truck and the don't make them like they used to including your old truck... you're right about not making them like they used to but i seriously doubt it's the weight i have or do have allowing to drive in the ice, snow or mud. i think is has more to do with driving ability than anything in these situations. true 4wd is much better but you would be surprised at what some common sense applied when needed can get done in 2wd. just saying...

@sean222007 really How can a vehicle be powered by a i6 cummins and a Caterpillar at the same time? Caterpillar is only an industrial engine, you will rarley find a Caterpillar engine in a nonindustrial vehicle. Ford only has one truck with a cummins in it, you are right, but its more commonly to find a caterpillar engine than a cummins engine in an F-650. Why do you think Ford is the number 1 selling vehicle for 30 some odd years straight? Real blue collar working americans like Ford.

I actually own A Ford Ranger For your information. why do you think Dodges Dakota come with a magnum V8, Because there V6s has no power look up the specs about them. Plus the little trucks called rangers actually has quite a bit of power even in there straight 4 engine. why dont you look up videos about Dodge cummins getting stuck. theres a lot of results. when you do your results then come back.

@13FravelJ This is a bunch of BS.Cummins is not owned by Ford,contrary to what some people think.Ford Does use the Cummins BT6 (6cyl just like in the Dodge pickups) in the F650.The V8 powerstroke is not built by Cummins it is built by Navistar (International).Ford has never owned Cummins they did own a very small share @7% of Cummins in the early 90`s but just for a short time.The rumor of Ford owning Cummins has been around for a long time and is absolutly untrue.

I'm not supporting Ford, but it's completely understandable that this truck is stuck like that... it's a PICK UP TRUCK. This guy has no weight in the back (idiot) and the truck is 4 door so it has even more weight in the front. Does the guy even have all wheel drive on? Only the back tires are spinning, which is the worst... or should I say best end to use for getting stuck in the snow.

@TheGorgorothSpire just because it's a 4 door dosen't mean it's added to the front, it increases overall GVWR, back 2 doors are in middle of truck not on the hood over tires, with the weight of truck it shouldn't have a problem getting out but if 4x4 worked then that should get him out even if he does have street tires, that shouldn't matter

I know these trucks have auto locking front hubs, but you can still manually lock these. This driver obviously does't know his truck very well. I know this because I owned an '04 F250 4x4.
