  • Hi Mod, long time since I heard this one. Check out Sheriff & Ravels on Vee Jay. It's a CRAZY rocker similar to Rubber Biscuit.

  • cute meaning! cute tune! oldies but goodies!

  • one of my family song!!

  • In 1977, I met a girl who had a Cascades LP record. Her eyes, and this song were a perfect match. Hearing it again takes me back to her quiet room in a land so far away.

  • @Wagneryan Thanks for commenting, these goys are excellent!

  • @Wagneryan wow!

  • I'm sooo touched hearing this melody again. It's almost a half a Century since I heard it. In '63 these words meant alot for me ... I was deeply homesick. I couldn't cling to the place I wanted to stay ... how I wished to have had clung to my beloved country ...

This melody blew me back into a nostalgic mood.

    The knot will never loose.

  • i like old songs like this one. this a beautiful song

  • @MyJanvic I'm happy to see you like it.

  • @01musicfan this a great song from the cascades in the 60's

  • What a great song. How desperate to want someone so much and to pin all your hopes on a single leaf clinging to a tree branch. I bought the Cascades first album when it first came out and played it over and over. I loved all the songs, what great harmony. Thanks for posting it.

  • @upsguy2002 You have to love this tune. I wonder if they would take and stick the leaf back on, to add extra hope.

  • @upsguy2002 i also like this 60's song and it wag great

  • I love The Cascades. The first song I heard from them was "Rhythm of the Rain" and I fell in love with them immediately. :) Their music is so beautiful.

Just one leaf, that's all there is now

And my last hope live with that lonely leaf, lonely leaf

With the last leaf that clings to the bough
