once they find water on the moon at any cost, it will be a stepping stone to travel to mars and so on. they are not just having fun there they are working on something important ok? and u said it "we are not going to live on it anytime soon anyways" for the future generation to "live" on it they have to start the work from now on. it does not happen over night
i dont believe the "photo" nasa started with then put in infrared is the same location. i think in my own opinion, they were actually destroying something that was there, and using infrared distorts the view as for it not to be seen.

If you take some bacteria, freeze it, then put it on the moon, there will still be bacteria.....if there is some frozen bacteria in the ice that might be on the moon then an atmosphere is not relevant, because the bacteria is frozen inside the ice. (if there is even any ice)

Reading says the explosion is to blow off dust and then a smaller craft will fly into that cloud to test for water. then it will also hit the surface to the launch more material under the dust... I.E. maybe water.

Should there have been a big explosion, considering the Moon has no gas atmosphere? I mean here on Earth that is the only thing that can feed an explosion and make it look big. I think it was normal only the generated cloud of debris was seen. It was probably generated by the kinetic energy of the impact.
