I made some with 3 Liter Pop bottles and some hardwood 1 1/4 rods (with holes drilled through for flow through of the concrete)... the pair of mine worked out to be 30lbs (or 15 lbs ea.) so I estimated roughly 5 lbs per liter of quikcrete.

@connecttoyourenergy I made mine - 2 litre empty coke bottles, filled with concrete and a half broom handle pushed down to the end of the bottle.
I also too the caution of using a 6" masonry screw and plug to pin the handle in place (just in case the concrete shrank away from the wood when dry).
Bit of hand wrap (like boxers use) bound round the handle for comfort...

Not sure about the weight of them - but at a rough guess would say twice the 6kg D bell set I have (each).
