Hi Ben, it sounds like you made it through hell and back and are now stronger for it. I'm not surprised you are better off than the sad bullies whose lives will be forever ruined by their behaviors from then, and probably now. I've been bullied for nine years. i'm 13 so that's since I was 4. It's gettin better in some parts but worse in some parts. i'm standing up for myself. i've never thought of suicide though. Some of my friends have truly defended me. some ppl who aren't rlly my friends jokingly defend me but it's not real and the shoot the birdie at me when they are to make that clear. People who bully me think it's a joke. It's not! If only you could understand....there's not really a way to explain it.........

Great song. Hope Kylee got the support she needed a year ago. Often bystanders are afraid of being bullied themselves by being associated with a victim of bullying. We need to empower kids with the skills and knowledge they need to respond appropriately when they witness a bullying situation. I believe it needs to start in early childhood education.

@kidslessons4life Thanks for your post! You are entirely right. The bystander needs to be empowered as well. Why aren't students banding together more to stop the problem? I am a big fan of "Drop a Note" (anonymous note from student to school faculty) as one way to help the victim . I also agree that the anti-bullying programs should start in early childhood. I am bullied too but my parents and my best adult friend are doing everything they can to get me out of school.....and i've recently learned that not everyone hates me and the bully in my school is the only one who doesn't like me. but i'm still wondering if no one hates me....then how come no one hangs out with me? because i only have like 2 friends in school and the rest of my friends are adults....so why?

Hey Kylee - I can already tell what a special person you are...your company is appreciated and enjoyed by adults. That puts you on a WAY smarter and grownup level than kids your age. You will be leaving others in the dirt, and go on to become successful in your after-school life, because of your courage and your smarts. Stick with the few friends you have and hang w/them as often as possible. And remember to tell adults what's happening & get them to help you by stopping the bully. -Annie

I also wanted to say stick w/your school, if you can, because jerks and bullies are in EVERY school, no matter how good or fancy the new school is. You need to learn coping skills that will help you become even stronger. You will face bullies even as an adult, so learn how to stop the bullies now. Also, try walking around school thinking "people like me" all the time, and see if it helps at all. Try positive intention & raise your positive energy. @Kyleecow try joinin a sport or something in school i joined wrestling freshman year when i was getting bullied alot to the point where they started hitting me when i joined wrestling the team started to look out for me and stopped the kids that were pickin on me

Dear Michelle - I am so sorry to hear that you are having this problem. Please get some help from a teacher or grownup, and tell them about this problem. Don't be afraid to be a "tattle tale" because bullying is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. It's not your fault. If you can, try to hang out with other kids, and get them to stand up to the bully with you. Just tell the bully to STOP! with your friends. Mostly, tell a grownup!!! Good luck sweetie. - Annie
