  • I was there in the River End (opposite end of where goal was scored). The final score was 5-3 to Liverpool. Probably one of the best games of football I've seen. RIP Fash.

  • this goal is TO nice

  • @premiumdessertkit you mean "TOO" nice ;-)

  • prob the only time in 1980 youd see 30k straight white men giving a gay black man a standing ovation

  • you boil too soon....any how u r so damn low

n justin is so great ........

  • One of the all-time great goals. Tragic story of Justin Fashanu, he never came close to reaching his full potential at Forest.

  • Many years ago (mid 80's) a Man Utd supporter told me that this was his all time favourite goal. Never having seen it I assumed he was just trying to put a rare one over Liverpool.(at that point in time!)

You can watch it a million times and smile. Just superb. RIP Justin.

  • I watched that goal on match the day the evening the match was played. It was a great goal, made even greater for the fact that Norwich held what was the most formidable team (Liverpool) of the eighties to a 1-1 draw. R I P Justin Fashanu.

  • what a great goal

  • @Benni2509 dude, i hope there will be a hell, just for people like you.

  • @Benni2509 u r so low, n Justin is so great....

    greater than u shit

  • @Benni2509 u r so low, n Justin is so great....ha ha

  • @Benni2509 u r so low, n Justin is so great....ha ha, he must b in seventh heaven,,,ha ha

  • @rova812 please you fucking faggot: SHUT THE FUCK UP! and stop sucking cocks you disgusting people -.-

  • Justin, you will live on forever through this goal.

Pure grace, balance and artistry. I love this goal.

Not a Norwich fan but this is my favourite goal of all time.

He just pings it on his left foot, the camera angle right behind it and the commentry. What a beautiful strike!

  • 63,000 people have at least once thought, "I'd love to see that Justin Fashanu goal v Liverpool" . And I'm one of them - the best goal of my childhood. Simply, outstanding

  • fucking best goal ever

fuck the wayne rooneys and ronaldos they dont stand in fashanu boots

  • Who cares if he was gay, player of immense talent and goal like that showed it. Wasted top talent.

  • best goal ive seen in my time

  • R.I.P. Justin Fashanu luv u ever

  • RIP Justin, great goal...

  • Love Barry Davies commentary

  • Great Goal...!!!

  • One of the greatest goals of all time! Andrew crofts just scored an identical goal for Norwich against Barnsley and both are outstanding but this one against the famous Liverpool team is just world class!

  • What an insanely good goal.

  • what a tragedy, came out as gay and then hung himself, just shows that only straight people can survive in the harsh world of football.

RIP Justin, for me you will be remembered as a talented striker, instead of just, the gay player who hung himself.

  • I knows this guys son, he is very much alive however he is in prison for match editing

  • @gearsofwarmaster2123 he was gay, he didnt have a son, you must be getting mixed up with his brother

  • Fashanu didn't celebrate goal much coz I think Norwich were 4-0 down at the time

  • @Vasyukov Norwich were not 4-0 down when he scored.

I was there - it was the first football match I was taken to. How lucky was I to watch this game as my first! Norwich went 1-0 up then Liverpool equalised. Norwich then went ahead 2-1 and were pegged back again 2-2 at half time.

Liverpool then took the lead to make it 2-3 and then Nowich equalised to 3-3 (Fashanus' goal) & looked like drawing until Dalglish & Case both scored in the last 3 mins!!!

What a game & great memories.

  • @LoveMagicTricks I stand corrected sir :-)

  • @LoveMagicTricks

I'm sure that I was at that game too. I would have been about 8 or 9, being born in June '72, so didn't fully apprciate what was going on.

    OTBC.

  • Sorry - plenty of comments. Remember this from my youth as a truly great goal. The reason Clough bought him fir Forest

  • Really? No comments

  • Fluke!!! The rest of his goals came nowhere near that

  • @hearts76100 Because he wasn't treated like we treated him...Clough treated him like shit basically and regretted it

  • @hearts76100 Nobodys goals came anywhere near that!!

  • @nwtrucker38

Dont get me wrong, its a terrific goal and is in maybe the top 10 ever scored!

My point was simply that he did'nt really push on and become a world class footballer!

Maybe cos he was gay and was discriminated against???

Probably!!! Great goal all the same.....no denying that.

  • what a strike.. R I P Justin...

  • golazo del super trolazo!!!!

  • you can be the best keeper in the world but sometimes an absolute cracker is just gonna go straight past you

  • reminds me of henrys goal against united

  • Thumbs up if you had to watch this more than once because it's so fucking good.

  • For such an absolute cracker of a goal that's an extremely modest celebration.

  • @RationalConclusion thats what makes the goal so good....

  • class finish

  • Comment removed

  • Bloody hell, that's Martin Peters congratulating him at the end!!!!

  • The hairs on my arms have a problem when I watch this goal. It is pure class. I root for Liverpool and have done so all my life, but I guess I am an old fashioned conservative. What consenting adults do in their bedroom is none of my business. I just like great football.

  • @mramo you know he hung himself because of similiar opinions prick

  • @p1nkAcid what - as a prick like you? dont hide it, you are hater yourself you moron.

  • @p1nkAcid Actually he hung himself because he had sex with an underage boy and was up on sexual assault charges. Being gay is one thing, being a pedophile is something entirely different.

  • @KillswitchEdge the allegations were dropped, and besides the boy was 17. If he was straight there would have been no problem with it.

  • @mramo wtf? and what? theres rumours davide santon is a "mincer" too does that make him any less of a player?

  • @Fiorentina222 davide who? never heard of this guy? Was he a rugby player?

  • @mramo nah.. i know of the rugby player dunno his name though, my ex is a rugby youth player, won some tour of barcelona and got player of the tournament too. beying gay doesnt affect how good u are at sports. davide santon, its rumours so far that he is bi, hes not got a really big name out of italy yet but hes been very impressive the games he has played.

  • One of the best goals ever scored in the history of the game! Inspiring!!!

  • did fairclough get a hat trick in this game? anyone got all the goals?

  • awesome

  • wow awesome

  • golazoooooooooo!!!!!!!1

  • that's what we watch football for, thanks Fash RIP.

  • @brhodes0

i though john fashanu was still alive

  • For me, the greatest goal of all time, and he didn't even seem too bothered. Sublime...

  • Pity we lost 5-3!

  • Agreed. At least Norwich pushed Liverpool hard. They were a world class side then, along with Nottingham Forest

  • "Ryan, Fashanuuuu - Oh - Ohhhhh what a goal!". One of the better commentaries.

  • The most nonchalant Goal of the Season celebration ever!

  • im a norwich fan too... but im not from england

  • but as you probably know he didn't stay at Norwich for long

  • Being an ardant Norwich City fan this really does make me smile.

  • Great to see it again, pure genius.
