I gotta say, The blackbyrds city life album is my #1 blackbyrds album. I can play the album on my turntable over and over again.

Yes. This was (is) a great group but.....none of what you hear on this (or any other
album) shows what Orville Saunders really sounds like. I was lucky enough to seat with him in the 77 actually actually play with this guy. Oh my goodness. Unbelievable.
He didn't play with a pick and his notes came out clean as a bell. His improvisational ideas sound very much like the sax player in this song. Very intervalic. A real treat for a musician.

Funk on a whole different stratosphere. THere is a Brass construction song that incorporates the country western theme then flips to a reggae track that is worth listening too. Thx for posting.

woo weee not everybody knows what tha hell is going on here..I had to mature into it...the keys,bass,guitar, and drums lawd then they go into that sly stone thankful tribute change whoo weee..i luv this!
