  • I gotta say, The blackbyrds city life album is my #1 blackbyrds album. I can play the album on my turntable over and over again.

  • Yes. This was (is) a great group but.....none of what you hear on this (or any other

album) shows what Orville Saunders really sounds like. I was lucky enough to seat with him in the 77 actually actually play with this guy. Oh my goodness. Unbelievable.

He didn't play with a pick and his notes came out clean as a bell. His improvisational ideas sound very much like the sax player in this song. Very intervalic. A real treat for a musician.

  • This is bad-ass!! This album, CITY LIFE, is one of my favorite albums of all time!! All of the songs on this LP are smokin'!! Thanks, brother man!!

  • Heavy...bad piece of groove.

  • this and Kool and the gang Rhyme Time People go so well together ............ yes I'm thankful for myself

  • Funk on a whole different stratosphere. THere is a Brass construction song that incorporates the country western theme then flips to a reggae track that is worth listening too. Thx for posting.
