  • I've tried to quit many times but always found myself buying another pack(alcohol&pot being the usual culprits..). I have not smoked in a few days and will never smoke again. These videos really help clearly explain some of the ways quitting can be tricky.. I feel my failed previous attempts at not smoking anymore help because I know what usually trips me up and how I trick myself in all the ways to smoke again. Thanks for making these videos and all the others you've made.

  • I'm glad to see that you are doing well. How are you doing after 10 months?

  • meh is a lot smokin' !

  • I don't smoke and meeting someone who has Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) convinced me that it was a very good idea not to start smoking!

If you don't know what it is, check it out! It's horrible. PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT WILL CHOKE TO DEATH.

And while you are waiting for that to happen, you sound like you can't get air. And you have a lot of trouble speaking because of that. So you kind of already sound like you are choking.

  • OMG! He's Gerard Butler !! hahahaha

  • i stoped 2 weeks ago , now im stopping again cause of this video

    thanks again man

  • You are right, its not hard to stop, if your a heavy smoker you will become tired the second-third day.

its the nicotine, my advice, sleep the day through, time it on your day off, after that day your clear.

  • Good on you for quitting. I've never smoked but know people who had (including my Dad) and know that they have said it was really a hard thing to do.

As for relaxing, instead of cigarette, you can go for a walk, go to the loo, get a drink of water (or coffee if you want a different drug). If anyone asks why you say, "I'm just having a quick breather." Non smokers are entitled to the same number/length of breaks.

  • Have you tried using the herbal ones to try and ease into quitting?

  • @Nora3AT

    No. have managed without substitutes..

it is all in the mind ^_^

  • smoking my last pack today wish me luck

  • @justsomemadman

    Way to go.

Don't listen to the lies you will try to tell yourself!

  • @justsomemadman have you kept on with the not smoking? just curious cuz this comment was posted 2 months ago, have you officially quit?

  • I was thinking the same thing as Froastwolf. Your videos are both relaxing and informative. Though I am perfectly content watching your videos hahaha. It's definitely a talent you have.

  • @GravityWithMe

    Thank you very much!

  • month ago i went out and while i was drunk i smoke 5 cigars just because i had them (i've smoked just occasionally one with friends) it was really hard to sleep because the feeling and coughing. i also woke up several times because of that. then i decided i won't smoke anymore. not even one. but still i've found that i somewhy think of smoking cigars when i'm bored. odd thing i have to say

  • It's sort of like working out when I first started. Prior to my turning 26, I never really worked out and I was out of shape. I spent the first three months getting over my body saying "OH My GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Now it complains if I don't work out!

  • I can't believe I actually watched the full 19 minutes and 49 seconds... Wait. Actually I can. You have a very pleasant voice, and you're good at "storytelling" (don't know a better word). And of course, those videos are probably an excellent therapy for you to stop smoking, maybe that's why they are longer than usual. :-) Keep it up!

  • Fuck bitches, get money

  • Good job, a nice way to roll into the New Year.

  • So have you reached the point where you are able to enjoy extra money in your pocket that would normally go to towards the smokes?

  • Good job dude. Looks like you're on your way to going clean (smoke-free). Congrats on your success! :)

  • Glad that you've stopped smoking for over a month now!

  • props man.

  • Keep up the good work and keep the smoking demon at bay. You have come far.

  • Sure... you didn't think about smoking in the car when you said "smoke the car" ;p

  • off topic but.....Must be nice to were a dress shirt in the middle of december

  • damn, this is a whole anime episode lol

  • made a good point about the dicipline man true enough

  • Kick that smoking habits' ass! XD

  • Congratulations for your one month stop smoking anniversary!

  • I'm glad you're still holding strong. Good for you!

  • Soooooo glad you are still off of cigs!!!! Congrats!!!!!!

  • Smoking cigarettes is "SO" not cool these days :-)

  • I stopped exactly 2 weeks ago. And man, do I know these demons. They are still very present :-/

  • @b3nny85

    Screw them!

Your intelligence and logic can beat them EASILY!

  • My "ritual" was every time I listened to music I would smoke a cigarette.

  • I think your statement at the end about "being a smoker requires more discipline than being a non smoker" is so true. All those little annoying things like ash dropping on the carpet, full ashtrays, having "blue" windows in the car, we non-smokers don't need to worry about that.

  • yeah... smoking is a total habit... when i was still working with my computer... i used to smoke and work at the same time.... when i stoped smoking... i was fine at the computer... but when i started working... i automatically bended my self i tryed to catch a ghost cig pack in the place that it was supposed to be my cigs. so... yeah... its kinda mechanical... its a change of habit.... its hard... but not impossible

  • i didnt see you up a video about stoping for a whille... i tought i would have to go to japan and spank you for been a bad silly dude... =D keep on going... that demon saying is now smaller then a peny... its easy to stomp his head... now days i dont have that "voice" telling me to smoke anymore, but once a month maybe... i remember i actually was a smoker... and i kind of think of it... but its like wanting a piece of lasagna... u just go over it easly.

  • As I commented before. I usually smoke with my friends (for example at party), but I could never imagine smoke during breaks from lectures or while driving car. Even in army, many people start smoking because they have nothing better things to do. But I will raise my hat for you that you don't smoke anymore. がんばってください!

  • I'm glad to see you're doing well. I think smoking can push many people away socially. I love visiting my sister but am really sensitive to smoke. Everyday I spend with her I get nasal congestion and headaches. She seems to think it's all some big act I'm putting on to make her quit.

  • i think u'r wright.

  • Congrats man :D

  • Keep it up man, your doing great!. Your right it's very mental due to habit. Once you get over that hurdle it gets easier. 1.5 yrs now since I lit my last cig. :)

  • *demon whispering* smoke silly old dude!

    just kill the fucking demon!

  • dude don't delete ur comments!!. i respect ur beliefs!!. it's all catharsis!! namaste!

  • i started then i saw your videos and i just stopped

  • I like listening to you. you should have a Radiostation :)

  • @TheSillyOldDude how can you say you still feel like one at times, but you have zero physical effects? you do know what withdrawl is yeh?

  • @TheSillyOldDude you are debating me, and you are also reframing my argument, misquoting me,and you are also flying in the face of 60 years research, but good luck with it!!

  • I'm so happy for you!

  • Whoo-hoo :D

    Keep it up!!

  • @TheSillyOldDude 99% of heroin addicts smoke cigarettes. the same receptors are involved. if you want to equate it to 'a casual habit' then that's ok, whatever makes it work for you. it's known as one of the most addictive things on earth. lab rats don't have mental habits bro. but as long as u don't smoke then that's what matters

  • @superfuzz i think it's a little funny that you say you know what's dangerous for smokers but are suggesting to people that nicotine isn't addictive ?!?!?. lol

  • @superfuzz : I had a problem with that at first, but now I think he's right. After all researchers talk about porn & sex addictions, too.

  • @equilibrateable yeh but if they show porn to mice, do they go after it time after time?. do they run over hot surfaces to get it?. will they risk death to get it?. i'm a little suprised to find people with such stone age ideas to be honest. there is a MOUNTAIN of scientific research to support what i am saying, but if you want to live in the last century that's up to you, always know ur enemy. ignorance is not a weapon. namaste.

  • @equilibrateable i was also addicted to pot, i gave that up recently. after a few sleepless nights, i got over it. i can also do without porn for long periods. they are not the same. i can stop watching TV , i can do without playing golf. these are all social weakness'/ they cannot be compared to nicotine addiction, just like caffeine addiction cannot be compared to heroin addiction. long story short, all addictions cannot be lumped into one box.

  • @equilibrateable

    Yeah, sex "addiction" :-D

I used to tell my wife that the nicotine addiction was a really strong physical thing.. and that giving up was like giving up a powerful drug..

I told myself the same thing..

Helped me justify my lack of self discipline.

But the last 4.5 weeks proved it was all bullshit.

There was ZERO physical withdrawal.. it was purely a mental struggle.

And that is after 30 years of hard core smoking.

  • That's pretty respectable that you quit smoking! Especially in a country where 80% of the population smokes? Good on you man! Hope you quit for good!

  • insightful. you gain ever more of my respect, lol. best wishes.

  • Keep it up. Thinking about quitting right now......... maybe that would be a wise decision

  • keep it up mate

  • Good to see you are still fighting on! Keep it up!

  • most people do use patches and gum, and soemtimes for years, and they are the ones WHO ALWAYS GO BACK. you have severely underestimated nicotine addiction. be careful how you do that. all of the "habits" yuou talk about are only good habits because you ASSOCIATE them with a nicotine fix. the HABIT is you getting your nicotine receptors slammed with what they want

  • most informative 19mins of my day :) thnx

  • it takes 3 months to stop withdrawl from nicotine. i'm at 6 months and keep going dude it only gets better and better. practise "witnessing ego" pretend your in the corner of the room watching yourself thinking of smoking, or smoking. and see how you "look" and yes it is a nicotine addiction. it always was and is. your body is MISSING something. i disagree on that.

  • @superfuzz six months now without a ciggy [after 25 years] :). i gave up the pot recently aswell...

  • Great video. Have your (japanese) friends in Japan noticed that you don't smoke anymore? What kind of feedback have you got from them?

  • @Beethoven1981

Yes.. they noticed and are supportive ^_^

  • @TheSillyOldDude one should hope haha n_n

  • you are an inspiring person, keep it up!!

  • keep up the good work man
