interesting dogs, they do like the arab salukis, wonder if the Qoja's ancestors (kazakhs of arab descent) brought them with them to Kazakhstan and eventually they assimilated with local dogs there...could be a theory:)
kazakh have also another pedigreed honting, shepherding and guarding dogs. all of em are 100% authentic dogs, among them:
Тазы (Tazi - hunting), Төбет (Tobet, this dog then gave birth to Alabai), Барақ (Baraq - guarding), Тарлан (Tarlan, this has wolve's blood), etc.
The little yapping non-pedigreed dogs we call қанден ит. There are many others pedigreed Qazaq dogs. Unfortunately many of them are not protected from vanishing. And i am afraid that some of em are under threat or allready gone((
no, I live in apartment, so it is hard to keep them there, but when I went to our villages, people told me some stories how smart those dogs are. and I heard some stories from my elder brothers.
Hi, thanks for looking, I live in Scotland, UK. But was traveling in Kazakstan last year as part an Aboriginal Dog Conference and to see Tazi Kazakh Salukis.

These are not Arabian hounds these are Kazakh Tazi photographed by me in Kazakhstan in 2007.
I also keep and hunt with 3 Salukis from Middle Eastern Origins and one from Kazakh origins.
Thanks for your comment all the same
