Beautiful akita! You've done great! thank you for sharing! I too, lost my akita this past summer! Am now looking for another! I miss him soo much! There is just no other breed like them!
thankyou for uploading this hes beautiful and youve obviously put the time and effort in with him i miss my akita terriblly and videos like this and knowing that people put this amount of effort and dedication to the breed that i love is really inspiring and reminds me of what wonderful dogs they are : )
I taught Cannon the basics. He went to classes and was socialized.
His parents are wonderful and the breeder is reponsible to the betterment of the Akita breed. I gave and still do give him loads of positive attention and rewards.
I was alway vigilant about aggressive behaviors quick to say "leave it" with a slight correction using the lease. ALWAYS praising his loving personality.
I want one of this breed, have always had gsd & rotties, but my hubbie says he could never trust one, but there's been a lot of bad press about our breeds too but ours are nine now and have never bitten any one (though we have to be vigilant at the vets) I will show him this and maybe he'll change his mind.. it just goes to show if you put in the training work the benefits you can get.. love your dog!!
i can imagine Cannon getting ALL the attention from the people and if i was there i seriously would hug him so tight as if he were a teddy bear. yea Akitas are very vocal. My Samoyed was like that too. :D
What a beautiful dog.

He is gorgeous. I've always thought that our girl would be a good therapy dog - she's very calm and reserved

How did you get involved in therapy? That is something I would be interested in.

@hammom68
Call your local nursing home to see if thet accept pets to visit.
Spca may have a program.
Cannon got his certificate from TDI Therapy Dog International.
Start them young.
Good luck and have fun.

Do not allow your puppy to bully.
Take her to classes and puppy kindergarden.

@Pupsalina Wow"puppy kindergarden" i'll try.

Kate, If you go there again you might try to find my grandmother Reta Lamb, she would mistake Cannon as my Akita.

I have put much time into Cannon.
Socialization, new places and just having a fun time, dog classes and shows.
As with all dogs I believe they go through "developmental stages" and what happens during these stages could make or break an otherwise wonderful dog.
Cannon is not nuetered and for a boy with balls he sure is a wonderful guy.
