Quad-core performance tweaking for Pcsx2

How good would a 3.3ghz AMD Phenom Turbo Six Core be for this?

@paddis3 Well you'll only be using 2/6 cores but even so I'd say it will do great with little to no lag. Make sure you use an ISO of the game instead of a burnt disc as the hard drive reads faster than a optical (DVD-ROM) drive.

This worked a little bit, but Metal Gear Solid 3 is still not a 100% smooth ..

your level of computer knowledge is so unreasonably laughable it hurts. setting affinity will not force pcsx to use more cores it simply sets what cores are available to it, the program itself will choose to use them or not. and by default windows gives any program all cores to play with. please research things before making stupid videos.

@Catarouxx my problem is you are misinforming users and that's not cool regardless of the reason. any "help" people are seeing is coming from changing plugins and has nothing to do with the affinity settings. so if you want to make a video saying change plugins go for it but the affinity does nothing please stop misinforming users

@CrazyVideoGamer1000 I've noticed that game plays fast. I got it working stable enough, however, it speeds up from time to time then comes back down. What are your comp specs?

@CrazyVideoGamer1000 yeah, from what i've seen its normal. Are you having trouble with it? Is the game speeding up? If so you can just make sure Speedhacks are disabled. Or maybe limit the EE but really don't fix what isn't broken.

Hi, I know it's been a while since the last comment, but I still hope you can answer.

i'm using:

Intel Quad Core Q8200

Nvidia GeForce 9400GT

3Gb RAM

I did your "Set affinity" Tweak and stuff, and now I tried playing Persona 4 and it goes beyond 100% (130% to 140%) so it's like I'm playing fast forward >,<

how do I keep it at 100%? thanks

@emleigh102291 Sorry if i didn't get back to you the first time. But first did you check to see if any speed hacks were enabled?

Its seems like its either that, or your computer is over-processing, and if its the ladder I'm not sure what to do, because the emulator can only be configured to speed it up the game. Are you setting the Priority when you set the affinity as well?

i don't think it's a real quad core support... pcsx2 supports only dual core, this is more like splitting a dual core works on a quadcore...maybe it helps a little, but we should hope the dev will make a proper quadcore support
