  • This is year 3 or 4, roughly, of people telling us that the end of the world is right around the corner.

  • @123gwf Good point. But it won't be the end of the world just major economic collapse. Those who are giving an actual date are probably jumping the gun but it doesn't make it any less real. Just look at the numbers. Look at Greece. If you don't believe there will be economic collapse or something very similar then you are not in reality.

  • @chrisfromneenah No, not an economic collapse as in 'on monday things were nice, but then on tuesday the whole planet blew up.'

More like a slow, gradual lowering of the average person's living standards, until one day everyone looks around and realizes that things suck.

  • @123gwf I guess it depends on what you mean by gradual. A couple of years. Couple of months, Couple of weeks. Plus, how bad do you think it will get. I believe it will get to a point at least - I would say 60% of people will be near or below today's poverty level.

  • @chrisfromneenah A matter of years.

In order for the sort of collapse that a lot of youtubers fantasize about to occur, some very powerful people in the world would have to decide that the status quo was not worth protecting -- which would be odd, since in the current status quo they are quite powerful.

Also, if there is ever going to be a collapse, I would blame peak oil before government debt. If you think government debt necessarily means hard times, I have one word for you: Japan.

  • @123gwf Yes, and what happened to Japan. Their cost of living plummeted in the 1990s. they had to basically start from scratch with much of their economy. Cut Spending. Work long hours, and start working together to create innovations. Great example. I hope to see our country be able to come together and do the same but are there too many who are asking for a free handout and not enough people to work the extra hours. That is my concern.

  • @chrisfromneenah Your concern is unfounded.

And if you were REALLY concerned about deficits, you would be ok with raising taxes on, GASP, the rich.

  • @123gwf I am ok with raising taxes on the rich but that is only a small fraction of the problem. even if we raised taxes on the rich it still wouldn't be enough for to cover the deficit. Plus, how much taxes is enough 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%. On the opposite spectrum, shouldn't everyone have to have some accountability and responsibility if they are on disability or some government welfare. Like volunteer - no matter how small or menial (ex. greeter at Walmart)

  • @chrisfromneenah Lowered taxes on the rich is a huge part of the problem. These giant deficits you think will end the world really got going once we kept cutting the capital gains tax rate.

And if you think people on disability should nevertheless go get a job, you don't understand the concept of disability.

  • @123gwf I do know what disability means. Did I say job? No. I said volunteer. I know several people with disabilities who volunteer and some who even have a job. I know an individual with severe Cerebral Palsy and he is a greeter at Walmart. Why? because he and his family sees the value in being responsible. This is what working together in a community means. Everyone, no matter how small, doing their part. Disability is throne out there so loosely these days like it is a free ride.

  • @chrisfromneenah Volunteer at Wal-Mart? Wal-Mart is a charity now? Hey, maybe you can get some guy in a wheelchair to shine shoes at Goldman Sachs, or some mentally handicapped woman to scrub their toilets -- for free, of course. What a utopia!

It really just exposes your mindset that you balk at the idea of taxing the rich "how much will be enough" and then turn around and demand that disabled people work for free at Wal-Mart.

  • @123gwf This exposes your ignorance and blindness of reality. I agreed we should tax the rich. It shows me that you don't care what I say and so probably don't care what anyone else says either if they disagree with you. In the disability issue, how can you say volunteering somewhere as compensation for government welfare is working for free. Remember they are getting paid by the government already and at a high price. My thoughts are that they would be getting, lets say $1000 dollars a month.

  • @chrisfromneenah You just can't stand the idea of helping another human being -- and why?

Because you're an asshole. An arrogant, condescending asshole.

    Congratulations on that.

Keep waiting for the world to blow up because there are food stamps, douchebag.

  • @chrisfromneenah Think about what you write to people. I'm blind to reality because I don't buy an explanation from you? Do you have any idea how fucking stupid you sound?

Then, it's the same crap from you that I get from everyone like you with this cadillac welfare BULLSHIT -- you're just a cranky old Republican who hates the idea of people getting help. So fuck you.

  • @123gwf Then in return they have to volunteer 30 hours in that month. That comes out to be $33.00 an hour. WOW I work as an RN and I don't get that kind of money. But see that is because they have a disability. Also, what is wrong with scrubbing toilets. I did that for 10 years when I was first working. Plus, do you really think companies would have people shine their shoes and even if they did, at $33.00 an hour that would be good money as a butler or maid (as that is what some are hired to do)

  • 100% Made on Earth Maaannnnnnnn..... I'm a Global Citizen (i'm being kinda sarastic Lol)

  • same shit in europe

  • Overall...it is a good video. But, you need to turn down the background music or get rid of it all together...it is too distracting.

About farming...great idea long term...but what happens if you need to bugout and make a run for it...initially, you do not want to be tied down by anything...especially your food source. Forget spam...there are many, much better alternatives. In this environment...one is going to need a high protein, fatty diet...think about canned salmon. One of the best foods.

  • @countrysamurai Please...for gods sake...get quality training and get armed as fast as you can. Both in hand to hand skills and with many weapons...especially firearms. The hand to hand skills can make one mentally tough. Get fit, NOW!

    Quit smoking!

Spend the money and get good equipment...sell your TV or gadgets if you have to and get 3 quality weapons...a rifle, a shotgun and a handgun. The shotgun is most important if you can only get one now. Decide who you are going to help...

    Right Now!

  • @countrysamurai Good points. I would hope that you would be able to create some strong community ties to help fend off anyone that would make you bug out. But if you are referring to the government or something then I don't see much alternatives other than to again hook up with others to create some type of community that can work together. In addition, I agree with salmon. Good choice

  • @chrisfromneenah Thanks for the comments...there are just too many people who refuse to either open their eyes or who refuse to prepare. The ones I talk to in the neighborhood know what I am doing and will pose an immediate threat when we have a breakdown. (Notice how I did not say "if"?) Thus...I prefer to leave. If I can do so safely. If they were willing to get their act together...then that would be a different scenario. Out in the country...I can control the variables at a distance. LOL

  • @countrysamurai It's interesting that even the Bible says to flee to the wilderness in a time of crisis. I have much more control over where I am and my immediate environment.

Also...don't store soda, of any kind. It has absolutely no nutritional value and it is a diuretic...you will piss out twice what you take in. Store maybe...

Capri-Sun individual drinks or some type of vitamin water with extra herbs or electrolytes. I don't favor Gatorade...to much sugar and food coloring. Store water!

  • @countrysamurai Good tips,do not store brown rice, the oil in it will make it rancid after a long period, white rice is better.Corn flour, rice flour are also good.Keep up the good info and stay healthy. As we up here in Canada during a long cold winter we learn how to last it out wisely.Good luck and keep your head up !

  • @chrisfromneenah One more thing...I wanted to recommend tuna in a can...you can buy it packed in Olive Oil at Trader Joes. It is very good and loaded with the protein and fatty acids that are essential in a high stress/activity environment.

I have learned a lot in doing this for near 30 years.

Get lot's of food that is healthy...good for you....and food that you like...with lot's of variety. Get stuff that keeps...I have a lot of MRE's and a few months of canned goods. With a lot of water.

  • @countrysamurai if you are buying ANY kind of canned meats or fish, NEVER buy it packed in any kind of oil. Water is always better because oils make the shelf life of those foods greatly reduced.

  • @quickmike Interesting...do you have any information on how long the meats packed in oil would last or should I just go by the dates on the can?

I use the stuff I buy...rotating it, so they don't get too old,.

I like the oil packed stuff...much more essential nutrients and high in beneficial calories.

Any info you can provide would be much appreciated.

Take care and good luck. Lindsay

  • @countrysamurai by all means, buy oil packed meats if you dont care about shelf life. oils go rancid much faster than water packed canned goods. go by the dates on the cans. usually it is safe to eat after the date. The best way to know if canned food is rancid, is to check for bulging on the ends of the cans... DO NOT EAT FROM A SWOLLEN CAN. My only purpose of telling you about the oils was to help you decide which one.....water or oil, based on how long you plan on needing your food stored.

  • @quickmike Thanks Mike...yeah, I eat them and rotate them frequently.

I am well aware of the cans swelling and to not eat them. It has become much easier with the cans being dated. When I first started storing cans many years ago...they did not put dates on them...I had to! The first thing I learned in storing canned goods...is to rotate them. I have been at this for 30 years!

Now I am seeing it come to pass...really scary!

    Thanks again...

  • how can obama accept doing such horrible thing

  • what should people with large bank savings do?

  • @gavinsstuff It depends on what your plans are. If you believe you want to build around the community you are in then I would look for land that you can grow food on. This is key. Then you can utilize it for food. If you want to buy some farming equipment that is possible. Otherwise, see if a farmer nearby would want to go in with you for new equipment or even farm it for you for a price. Also, look into firearms or someone nearby could help. This is good for protection.

  • @chrisfromneenah so basically those of us who have worked our balls off and have large savings should empty our accounts go by a farm, guns and a noahs ark. are u insane. i think these bug out bag vids are for benefit scum retards that have no money. why dont we all just give up now stop making money according to you.. i take it u still put money in the bank or dont u have any. why are americans scared. too many alien, nibiru, 2012, 911 conspiracy movies???. chill the fuck out

  • @gavinsstuff Leaving the country would be a good option. This is only in the case that all the productive people are leaving the country already, due to a real SHTF scenario and just the leeches remain. You will find much more economic freedoms in many asian countries, just pick wisely when it comes to issues such as censorship and other areas of that nature.

  • Lots of true things said in this video... but I have some news for you that it seems you didn't learn at school... ** vitamins are already in food **

  • @bigmick142 True but as we get older our digestive system weakens and we need supplements. Plus, if you run out of some foods - vitamins may tide you over for awhile if you don't have fruits or vegetables and just beans and rice

  • Thanks for the constructive criticism

  • Nice video, but so many making videos like this us really loud obnoxious music overlayed and it's distracting. Either tone it down or do without wold help.
