So? Luffy in One Piece is voiced by an 80 year old woman too and he's the age Goku was when he fought Vegeta. This is Goku's real voice. When Toriyama was creating DBZ this is the voice he had in his head when he would think of Goku. Goku IS NOT, supposed to sound tough like the rest of the characters. He's supposed to sound like a goofy Japanese hillbilly from the mountains. The English dub gave him a retarded "TEH BAD AZZ" voice make DBZ seem like a super hero show (which it isn't)

@Shinn18 You could look at it that way, but then again law and order could also be a super hero show, as well as Dexter and Sonic the hedgehog, because in MOST shows in general saving/helping and evil are going on. but if you asked anyone who watches it, this show is NOT a super hero show. just revolves around a couple decent people who, if they are witnessing a problem, will step up. and at one small part of the show Gohan did try to be a super hero (dress up and everything) but small part.

goku's voice is supposed to sound ridiculous though. that's his personality. thats why goku's japanese voice is one of the most legendary and beloved voices in japan. where else do you think oda got the idea to give luffy basically the same voice and personality as goku? people who think "goku doesn't sound bad ass this sucks" don't know SHIT about what DBZ is really about. the original jap version is much deeper than the english dubs generic CORNY action hero cliches.

One Piece is not like the rest, trust me on that. It's got a solid structure, varied and logical storyline, decent amount of progression and some of the best fight scenes in anime history. Say what you want about Bleach or Naruto but One Piece continuously gets better.

Agreed. I think one of the reasons I like One Piece is because of its heavy Dragonball influence. A lot of the Japanese DBZ voice actors are in One Piece as well (Piccolo = Ace, Krillin = Luffy, etc). Its pretty much the only recent shonen series that's worth reading/watching. Naruto on the other hand is for depressed fat chicks who like dudes wearing eyeliner. Dragonball/DBZ and One Piece are for normal people who are actually happy with their lives.

Hey, GT was a really good show. What's with everyone not liking it? The only things bad about it were the first 20 episodes because they didn't make much sense. If you want to watch a good GT that isn't crappy, watch the japanese with subs since the english one had a huge amount of errors and crappy lines (pretty much all of the dragon ball english dubs were terrible due to lines that made no sense and a load of crappy voices).
