Fishing the New River Fries,Virginia

At 2:31 in this video is a small hole, that i like to fish, i go there about 2 times a month. i was there early this morning, caught some fair size bass.

the New River's a great spot. I've fished it all my life being from Fries myself. Note to all, you don't really need a guide to have a blast here. Bring your boat, finding fish won't be hard. Head down River Side Drive, to the Conoe shop half way between Galax, and Independence, they'll point you in the right direction. :)

@armytb20031 nah don't need a guide but it helps right....Thats how us Fries people are always helping our fellow fishing buddys and we make a lil money on the side to cause lord knows we need it :)

Well the thing is we been running a slot limit on smallies in the New River u can only keep 1 a day over 20'' and 5 a day under 14'' the rest u have to release.....and wow that has proven to grow some big smallies and is only gonna get better :)

I used to bang the hell out of smalls in the Delaware r. up nere the gap,

not as big as our here in the new but still good action, take a look at foster falls on the New if you travel south this year.

..but yeah the New River offers big smallies and every year keeps getting better beacuse we have a real good slot limit on smallies and a great food scorce here in the southwesteren part on VA

Hey man yes late summer and spring are my favroite times to smallmouth fish....so if you make a trip you wont be dissappointed.....late summer early fall offers good topwater action as well..

yes sir we do we got a resavor out here called contra loma if u wana look at it on the internet they plant about anywhere from 250-100lbs evry 2 weeks its great for us out here
