A blastocyst( 3 to 5 day old embryo) is not really destroyed. It is separated, and it lives on as developing human tissue. After differentiating into heart, pancreas, nerve tissues, etc., those deemed less profitable are thrown in the trash.

In essence, a 9 month old "stem cell line" is a newborn's body parts growing in separate dishes, awaiting sale for profit.

2 things:

in the case some of them, or maybe all of them, are already dead. who killed them, or who didn't asume the responsibility of the embryo's life? obviously the scientists who induced the embryos birth (and the parents who wanted to have the in vitro fertilization) are naturally responsible of the live embryos whose life they have induced. if they let them die in the test tube (without providing them with the food, warmth, water they need), or burn them, they are technically killing them

I put up videos where your own stem cells are regenerating body parts, making functional organs (for people), 'cure' Type 1 diabetes, MS, have paralyzed up, and much more - from news and Journal of American Medicine Reports. The future is now, and it doesn't involve stem cells from embryos. Indeed, other stem cells not only exist to seek/repair damage, they make excellent agents for gene/drug transport (and you don't have to regulate 3,000 genes to maintain them, see 06/13/07 journal Cell.)

Nope. The preliminary test for embryonic stem cells (ES) is inject under skin and check for tumor formation. No Tumor = No Embryonic Stem Cells. 100% rats developed brain tumors 10 wks into recent Parkinson's study. That's why no where in the world are they using ESs, even in clinical trials. 'Bad things happen' applies Obama's words. Tissues from ES are rejected by recipient; researchers are abandoning for iPS and other stem cells are doing what hES promise. ES are dangerous and obsolete.
