  • That's really great! Mine suck haha.

  • very graceful, wonderful form

  • wtf? did we just hear your knee pop? really good though!

Just one question: do you ever have knee problems?

  • You show a lot of potential; better than most on youtube doing this action already. However, I'd offer some criticism because I think it will help you master it. Your starting position is correct, but you go through the motion too fast, and you failed to keep your posture on the recovery motion, most likely because you lack the strength in the legs to complete the action. You are well on your way, keep practicing. Proper completion of this move is difficult, but worth it. Not many have a chance.

  • @TheSr2joker

Also, keep your hands straight out for balance. It will help.

  • good leg control, holding the other straight out like that.... not many people take the time to keep it in form like that

  • Awesome.

  • good flexibility!

  • Impressive for an Average Joe, but what does it have to do with vegan power ? :-)

  • Click!

  • Hit 5 to hear her knee crack repeatedly.

  • Very strong legs. Congrats!

  • nice.... I can do 15 with a single leg. I am a cyclist boy. ...sow... you are god. Good Luck. (ps: my messinger id is: ionelpaveliuc)... I kiss you.

  • @georgianaionel dude, that is creepy.

  • @Killer390 he's eastern european so it doesn't count.

  • that's crazy, looked like u broke ur leg at first

  • i love you lol

  • cool feet;d

  • i can go down but can never get back up, good job!

  • her knee saying like that is pretty normal for people in the teenage years. it's nothing "dangerous"

  • guys dnt be so perverted she is doing something positive

  • this is really dangerous for your knee tendons. just watching that makes my knees wince in pain. you need great flexibility and knee strength to do this safely.

  • Also called a "Pistol" High 5!

  • Very good. Please see Horizontal Leg Pistol JuciNeni to find out what I'm looking for. This was similar. But I need a straight leg, ankle extended, toes pointed, lift to 180 degree split overhead, release leg and lower to horizontal, squat with perfect technique form posture and balance. No resting or bouncing at bottom. >Also one with forehead against knee the whole way. Let me know. Thanks.

  • wow that was awesome! was that you knee cracking tho :)??

  • awesome leg workout tough for me tho acl surgery lol

  • Thats awesome!

  • i can do this on my right foot with success (not saying its easy though i did it 10 times) but if i do it on my left foot i can barely do 1, because my left ankle is bad and i cant push my left knee forward so that it is in front of the foot (my ankle has limited motion). im 21. whats the best thing i can do to improve the range of motion for my ankle?

  • it seemed a little fast to me, could just be me though...looked kind of like you dropped, caught yourself and kind of jumped back up

a little more explosion training which is extremely beneficial in its own way

  • I cant :((

  • damn i can't keep my leg straight out, but damn nice job, mine still suck, mostly because of knee surgery but still lol

  • Kolano za bardzo poszło do przodu.

  • 美しい

  • I read from some forum that someone can do 83 these purely in a row.

  • amazing!

  • "everyone seemed amazed by how low I go"

Were these "everyone"s by chance male? A girl who can easily squat low...wonder what that'd be good for...

  • @seekerseven i'm a guy and i can squat low, way under 90 degrees, with the back of my thigh touching my calves... so what's up with that? it means nothing, just that most people who don't train properly are just inflexible as an 80-year-old.

  • Being a vegan hardly makes you do better pistol squats.

    ._.

  • You like bodybuilder ? When i go to canada i visit you.

  • Hawt.

  • Awesome stuff! Keep it up!

  • very nice

  • sexy

  • early last year I commented on this when I was Donivendetta..99% of skinny people could not do this....this is a very hard exercise to learn, and impossible for most..

  • not hard to go that far down when you weigh 5 pounds

  • @slowbus--don't hate....actually, it could be harder considering she may not have as much muscle mass as someone who weighs more--but also, this exercise has to do with balance and flexibility. Doesn't matter how much one weighs, if they are not strong, flexible, and balanced, they could not execute this exercise.

  • i played cod every day for a year and did no exercise, baaaaaaad diet too but i can do them, i never had a problem with them at all :o

  • you probably dont weigh much, im 130lbs and a cyclist and I cant do 1

  • it depends on particular muscles in your leg whether you can do these or not, doesn't have that much to do with your weight.

same like one arm push ups... a body builder doesn't necessarily have to be able to do these, it requires different muscles than for example the ones you're using when you're pushing weights.

  • @skiingchampion if you can't do this it means you lack either one or more of the following: 1) balance 2) flexibility 3) leg power.

i'm about your weight, i can do it. i've seen people heavier than me do it, vegan or not :P it all comes down to practice. if you can't do one, only do the downward motion. after a while, you will notice that you stop falling down like a rock, instead, you will descend in a controlled manner. if you practice even more you'll be able to get up again.

  • This vid demands a soundtrack watch?v=_sClIFc3CAo

  • hot

  • nice legs too!

  • You can SQUAT on me AnyTime...

  • The vegan diet is not unhealthy, you're talking crap.

Bet I know dozens of vegans bigger & stronger than you.

  • nice pistol squat. but, a vegan diet is unhealthy. you will become protein and amino acid deficient and you'll take in too many anti-nutrients from grains and legumes. paleo diet is the way to go.

  • @eamonob84

vegan diet is not unhealthy per se.. the paleo diet does out perform most diets tho in terms of getting all your RDA's from dietary sources. alwell as the ratio of protein:fat:carbs and the types and balance of mono, poly and saturated fats...

  • @lordi and that is totally relevant to the video...

  • It's hard! I can do it too. I like putting my hands out front so I can get my hips back easier

  • Don't swing your arms so much, do more than one repetition. You're throwing your arms up to bring you body up rather than relying on strength

  • Oh, no, the knee shouldn't go beyond the toes and generally the buttock should be pushed back. I am afraid doing this, may cause problem for the knee joints which shows itself in the older ages.

  • Comment removed

  • its not bad for your knees, you have good form and the exercise is called a pistol, good job :D

  • its only not good if you dont go all the way down. Knee is the strongest at either full extension or full bend.. in between is how people get injured. ;)

  • props you make that shit look easy

  • hi there.. are you gymnas or ballet dancer.. how much you can do that squat?

  • Great job, a bit scary how you drop so fast, I'm so slow dropping down.

  • Amazing squat, vegans rule!

  • that looked easy until i tried it! haha this is really good :D

  • Even watching it is very frightening ..

You will get knee problems if you don't already have..A crack is being heared by your knee while you get down..

  • The crack in her knee or ankle maybe just compression of small air sacs between joint. Usually common if you haven't warm-up properly. It dosen't suggest anything harmful or damage to joint provided there is good technique.

  • Idk her knee passes her toes..

  • Impressive...

  • aq1q, qhat would i know eh.............loser.......if it takes ages to practise to do it right and there are other options that dont risk injury surely the 1st choice is that of the idiot......i reckon i can squat more than what you can squat, deadlift, and bench out together.

  • Why does it matter what Bruce Lee could curl? Curling is one of the least functional exercises out there. Her pistol squat is very impressive, but a laoded barbell back squat would do a lot more for strength and conditioning.

  • Very impressive. How long did it take to get this down?

  • LOL vegans!

  • CE invasion.

  • CE? Where?

  • HAI CE!

  • OH HAI

  • EPIC DELAYED RESPONSE

  • haha, yet I still have no idea what you are talking about!

  • huh?

  • CE.

  • It all very well everyone saying she does it amasing. If you watch her knee it travels well beyond her toes - all she is serving to do is grind her knee-caps down. Not long now till the osteoporosis kicks in!

  • u idiot, thats how it starts... u can't just just one day do perfect 1 legged squats. it takes a bit of practice and training, and she successfully did it.

  • Knees being in front of your toes doesn't mean you are hurting your knees. I doubt you heard that from a (well done) study on that but from some random internet article or some random guy in the gym that corrected you one time. Knees traveling forward isn't a problem, whether or not your hamstrings tighten up during the squat is. I don't think a bodyweight squat of any kind is going to do a whole lot to an athletic female below 20 years old.

  • Could be wrong about the bodyweight squat hurting knees, but knee stabilization definitely has to do with hamstring tightness. With the knees that far forward it is more difficult to get a hamstring stretch though.

She has more balance/coordination that I do though.

  • VEGAN POWER!!

    i love u

  • They're called pistols, and you do it very well.

Though admittedly, if you wanted to use these to actually work out, I'd advise not "falling" into the bottom position.

  • i dont understand why people are giving you advice, you are one of the best ive ever seen do this, oh and the average 100 pound person could never do this.

  • Not hard when you weigh 100 pounds.

  • You do realize how little muscle mass a 100lb human has, right?

  • Enlighten me.

  • Bruce Lee was around 145. He could curl 80lbs.

  • no one seems to care how easily u raise ur leg. thats the real hard part. and LOL for the vegan thing

  • it was only 1 squat, but great power ;)

  • lols this is one of those exercises you say to your friend "hey can you do this?" but obviously it takes several weeks before you can do them easily

  • I fell over trying to do it hehehe

  • my hat is off to you

  • Nice balance and good job. Nice build too.

  • Try doing it whilst say standing on a rail or something. I can

  • great great work keep it up !!!!

  • That's really awesome. Can you share with us what breathing pattern you use to power your muscles for the exercise?

  • i love u

  • cheater

  • Nice leg...ehm...squat

  • thats hard to do, even no you need to work more on your calves, nice!:)

  • I would.

  • nice one girl. Now you can start working your way up to more reps. Check my vid out as well.

  • Who gives a shit?

  • Who doesn't?

    That's just awesome

  • It definately is. My comment was an answer to another comment, not to the video :)

  • The performance is quite impressive, however, controlling the movement and remaining still at the bottom of the movement prior to flying back up would have demonstrated great strength.

  • ofc bodybuilders cant, they weight 100 kg moore then this chick. but still, its impressive =)

  • Yeah, bodybuilders are good for pushing cars, but when it comes to vertical lifting they're pushing an extra 100kg as you say. I could probably do more pushups than a bb, but I wouldn't want to sumo wrestle them

  • I can, I always have been able to. Even before bodybuilding. Now after squatting 500 lbs I can do these with my 4 yr old daughter in my hands.

I can also do push ups with her on my back!!!

  • Impressive!

  • wow... it takes a lot of strength and balance combined. Most men can't do this even the bodybuilders... yet this girl does it. great.

  • @xtremixt1 thats because bodybuilders have alot of muscle thats alot of weight, shes skiny as fuck, most bodybuilders could probably pick her up and throw accross a room..

  • @D4NIBOY that's still no excuse.. most bodybuilders are steroid pumped california style bodybuilders with majority of muscles on their upper body and tooth pick legs.... she is still proportional so you got to give her a break here.... most people can't even do one rep of pistol squats....

  • @xtremixt1 heh, what do you mean 'even the bodybuilders'? bodybuilders are only good at lifting dumb weights, other than that, they have 0 balance and 0 flexibility.

  • @waldomarek I don't know for sure but some bodybuilders I met told me that bodybuilders have excellent posture, balance and flexibility...

  • @xtremixt1 some bodybuilders i met told me bodybuilders are flexible... ummm sounds like they wouldn't be biased... hahah. truth is body builders really aren't in great overall condition and lack flexibility, power, and endurance. they have one thing, strength.

  • @xtremixt1 cause body builders arent in athletic shape! they are out of shape! they just have big clumsy muscles...

  • Pistol squats* :)

  • Great job. They are so much harder than people (who do not squat or do those) realise. Well done.

However they are harder when you are naked... try that and video it for us eh? ;-)

  • yay

  • I see your legs are not only beautiful. How many can you do in a row? (I mean squats, not legs;))

  • Hold your hands still, otherwise I doesn't count -_-

  • What? She was a little off balance, but it was fine.

  • Congratulations!

  • pff

  • You should add a better form in those. Press trough the back of your foot. not from the toes.

And get up with pure quad strength, better than going too far forward. :)

    Greetz

  • Thats real shit. How about some chi lel wall squats next.

  • I used to hate doing these when my hippie, yoga, granola, tofu girlfriend made me do them, but now I'm addicted.

    I still won't eat tofu though. :P

  • wow strong girl! thats kinda sexy

  • i thought these were easy til i tried doing one. very nice squat btw.

  • By the way, kudos to luxurygreen from a fellow vegan.

  • very nice, With do time you can do that with out having to user your arms to get you up. I used to, but have since lost that balance... Have fun with whatever you are trying to improve.

  • Girl, you're very strong, I luv you!

Now do it without momentum ;)

  • how long have you been doing that?

damn, i need to learn how to do that without falling on my ass.

  • How do you hold your leg out without getting cramps?

  • Wow cool, I am working on my one leg squat but not as good as u. What other kind of exercises do u do?

  • Awesome, Gal.

Dont pay attention to some of these weak "boy" comments.

You could probably kick their ass, which would be so out of character for someone serious about improving themselves like you.

  • :) haha, thanks Chester.

  • YOu should try and avoid letting go of all the tension at the bottom of the pistol. Don't allow your body to just collapse like that and try and force yourself up, that is just asking for knee trouble.

  • I have not seen some one do a single leg squat with flexing at the lumbar spine. I think it could be done but the person would have to have a very strong bum.

I also havent seen any videos of people doing handstands without looking at the ground. I heard people should be able to see there toes.

  • Can't comment on the squat minus the flexing lumbar spine, but if you watch capoeira videos, you'll see people doing handstands all the time without looking at the ground.

  • u must have a nice ass

  • ouuch that must have hurt your knee so much lol. What a huge crack

  • no, that was just my ankle. It cracks all the time. Old gymnastics injury.

  • hmmm still i bet that hurt.hmm I never heard of ankles cracking, did you break it before?

  • now try the other leg. Most peoples right leg is dominate.

  • :o)

  • For people who can't go that low, try doing two leg squats but by holding some weights. Even lunges with weights will help.

Make sure you are doing it properly, to boost your leg strength.

  • how did you build up to be able to go that low? any specific exercises?

  • Hey brunch43. Check out the book The Naked Warrior by Pavel Tsatsouline. The whole book is dedicated to the one legged squat and the one arm push up.

Basically he talks about progressively acheiving the pistol. So if you can't do a full one now then practice doing them on chairs or books etc.. Get lower and lower until you can do a full one. And remember never to work until muscle faliure. Because you only want to teach your body perfect form.

It took me about 3 weeks to be able to do one :)

  • i cant even get my leg up that far

  • it took me 2 weeks to get this down

  • technically that isnt a squat because you just dropped then pusheddup...

  • it is squat, she just does it fast and catches her self for a ballistic press. I can't done coz of my ACL, but I work around it. Vary good.

  • nice!

  • Impressive posture and balance. Good job.

AndreWhakim, lets see the vid, butthead.

  • Really? YOu should post it!

    nasaguy

  • that is actually verry nice

    good job

  • wow your better than me lol very nice

  • wow good job girl =)

  • nice!

  • wow man, i just tried it and i fell on the ground hahahaa

  • nice job, I want to learn to do that over break

  • dont drop into the squat so quickly. you are going to blow out your knee

  • very unlikely

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TIGHT!@!!!!

  • great legs, you should try to lower yourself a more slowly

  • By the way, nice squat! Cute outfit :) Vegan power? Sure, why not?

  • The strength required is slightly less than it would take to do a regular squat with twice your body weight that deep. In the case of this girl, probably 200-210 lbs.

  • Where'd you read that? I'd be curious to know since I agree with your other comment but not this one. Flexibility and balance are MUCH more important than strength here. I'd imagine a 1-legged squat is really more like squatting with 20-50 pounds on your back, not double body-weight... I mean you're only lifting an extra leg...
