no you don't need it, the crunchy sound of an amp can do it. Still in this video i use a tube king pedal plugged on a tube amp : fender deluxe 40w

this is a very good cover :)!!!!, when u play the chorus tho, u do 4 of the bend notes at the 9th and 7th fret. on the 4th bend, u slide down to the 3rd and 5th fret. same strings, except ur bending the 5th up! :)
