I don't really get what's so "hipster" about them. I mean, sure, they've got some ironic songs, but they're humorous. These guys aren't pretentious assholes or anything like that, either. If you get the chance to meet them, you'll find they're incredibly friendly and pretty humble, too. I kind of get the impression that people get riled up and call them, and anyone who likes them, a "hipster" strictly off of some vague stereotype they picked up in high school.

All of you kids are ridiculous. I love Andrew Jackson Jihad. I like how simple it is. I like that his voice isn't at all conventional. I like the simplicity of the lyrics and I like that, despite this simplicity, I can always get a sense of emotion and passion out of their songs. I can feel their hope, cynicism, bitterness, happiness, apathy, and conviction. There's something raw to it all. If you can can listen with an honest and open mind, I think anyone could see and appreciate these things.
