  • man this songs pretty good! why dont they make more like this

  • reminds me of that year and a half i spent coked out of my mind

  • @mandroid87 Sounds like a good time! Do tell . .

  • @ghostae138 truly. He is such a musician. He is my only inspiration.

  • my boyfriend loves this song, he plays it alot.

the other day he said to me "you smile every time i put this on."

    ..i do. :)

  • @BHHislife marry me instead

  • @BHHislife He's manipulating you into liking his music. Give that guy a pat on the back for me :)

  • This song gives me a feeling that no other song I've ever listened to has gave me.

  • Favorite song by The Fall of Troy, so good.

  • 3 people r deft, blind, and retarded. and they still loved this song their hands just slipped

  • The entire time I was listening to this song, I was waiting for insanity.....but it never came. I must say I'm impressed to see them do this.

  • oh God...someone finally understands

  • OMG i am so suprised this is the first time i have heard this. it is amazing, another new favorite

  • i absolutely love this song so much.

  • just a man and his machine

  • my second favourite ssong on this album. the first being ex-creations

  • cut the crap, great fuckin song. One of the best from manipulator

  • I love this song because I love all music. And I love The Fall of Troy, so for me, its a win all the way.

  • Love or hate this song, I Guarantee there will always be an extremely large portion of people willing to sing along to it at any given moment in time.

    Love, the biggest FOT fan.

  • it's like your average pop song, but with super sick chords + awesome singing

  • @xX0Jota0Xx lol dude, this is not your AVERAGE pop song Thomas is playing difficult ass chords and singing at the same time that is not average at all

  • @JustinCaparas yeah well that's pretty much what i meant

  • This Song Is Great And Anyone Who "Hates" It Or Thinks Its "Gay" I Will Personally Punch In The Medulla Oblongata. FOREALZZ

  • Anyone who doesn't get why this song is so "gay" or slow. It's because this one is about thomas' struggle exclusively. Every song they make is bassically the same energy of the lyrics, and the feelings they bring out. being projected vocally and instrumentally. But this one is about a personal struggle that thomas had, and the feeling of lonliness that a problem only you feel like you understand, and could never explain, brings out. It's a layered metaphore, not a break from thrashing.

  • a Better kept secret. Waiting on a better day. :(

    So melancholy.

  • 3 people got caught up doing something they should'nt have bein doing >.<

  • i like this song. it's a nice little something different from them.

  • this song made the album.

if all you want is thrash just put doppelganger on repeat.

    dicks.

  • god i love this fucking song

  • I wish this song was longer. It's so lovely.

  • @thouartaviking I agree so much; One of the best songs from The Fall of Troy, even though it's basically Thomas Erak alone.

  • this guy is a song writer, whatever he writes is amazing.

  • i wanna give thomas erak a hug

  • Hey, we can't all love every single song. Give the guy a break. In order to find out if you like songs, you gotta give them a chance. I mean, chances are he didn't look the damn song up, just checked it out because of the artist.

Come on people. Lighten the fuck up.

  • Hahaha... shows**

  • Ah, but it's not a SHITTY song. It's a good song. It's a song that shoes off his vocal talent. It's not like TFOT's other songs - doesn't make it utter shit. C'mon man, harsh words. It's not my type of music either, but I can't deny that there's great musicianship going on here.

I'm seeing them on their last tour on the 1st!!!! STOOOKED.

  • Comment removed

  • haha tfot does good with this stuff. thomas had an amazing voice

  • thomas is the musical genious of our time

  • @dios456 hes the modern day hendrix

  • if you like the chaos and shit of their old stuff, you probably won't like their new album too much. if you DIDN'T like the chaos of their old stuff, you should definitely check out their new album.

  • what was that last chord?

  • second fret on A string and 4th fret and D string with everything else open

  • @sadistxx666xx

    It's an Em9

  • love this song! one of my favs!

  • I wish their songs were more like this, and moderate screaming. Sometimes they overdo their songs with screaming and it gets annoying.

  • @pieiscoolyo then you should love the new album lol

  • even whe they scream their lyrics are THE shit

  • This is most defintely my favorite song of theirs but apparently most people don't think so.... This song = <3

  • i love this song, i can just about play along to the video i just mess up the slide a bit since my gutiar's not cut away :(

  • presonally, i love this song.

the fall of troy are fantastic

  • Hey,

Apparently, we can't really learn to understand that people see music from different viewpoints. I like this song because it's a short break from the chaos of the rest of this amazing album. But, some might say they don't like it for the same reason. His voice takes a bit to get used to, but if everybody hates the song so much, why watch the video in the first place? It's okay that you are expressing your opinion, but you shouldn't put others down who disagree with you.

  • @Llama4Prez chaos? thats exactly the opposite of how i feel is other songs are like...some are just perfectly peaceful...but ive just proved your point...

  • @Llama4Prez you are a wise person, my friend, and you speak the truth in a place where most feel they have to hide behind viewpoints, instead of embracing the views of others, and, while not necessarily agreeing with them, not putting them down just because they are different from their own.

  • @Llama4Prez Thanks for writing quite possibly the best comment ever to be posted on youtube, especially on one of my most favourite songs. More Youtubers need the open-mindedness that you have.

  • @Llama4Prez

They played an acoustic of this at their last nashville show. Was fucking amazing.

  • STFU

  • You guys must be Redditors. Am I right?

  • With that being said... hwn, your logic is completely moot... All the people defending the band, your logic is completely moot. What matters here is it's music and get the hell over yourselves and realize with every music piece EVER written, there has always been people who didn't appreciate it, and others who did. That's just how the world works.

  • You know, did you ever think this song isn't meant to be great guitar? They're music ARTISTS, get it... Art. What do artists do? Express themselves, maybe? Perhaps he was expressing himself... Oh my god, really? How could that be... Perhaps in that sense the lyrics may not appeal to you. However, everyone has had different life experience and the lyrics connect with me very well, so perhaps it's opinion... experiences... tastes, whatever the hell you want to call it. Some like it, some don't.

  • Too long, did not read.

  • i need dis song badly,,,

  • this is such a great fall of troy song, aside from the crazyness. yay thomas!

  • I quite like this song, it is different to their other stuff, sure, but it's like a breathe of fresh air on the album and the lyrics are still good and it has a catchy melody.

  • did he just say "listen-en-ing"?!

  • You do realize this is utter shit, right? I think you've all been brainwashed by the fact that this album has two or three exquisite tracks and you just assume everything on it is great.

  • What you're saying is an opinion. Not a fact.

I actually like this song a lot. I'm not a big fan of most of the bands songs even.

  • I'm confident that one day we'll have a way to provably demonstrate the shitiness of a song. On that day, this song will surely fail beautifully.

  • yea.. my friend played this on guitar and i was like whoah cool. but then i listened to it.. and i just think if they had a different singer it'd be way better.

  • the guitarist and singer are the same person

  • no shit sherlock

  • you were saying it like you didn't know.

  • lol

  • I'm sorry to say, but that is ridiculous.

Songs and art in general are a means of expressing yourself. How can you judge someones means of expression like that?

Just because YOU don't like a song doesn't mean that the song is "shit." It's simply your opinion. Obviously not a fact, because I for one, enjoy this song, as do many other people.

  • you obviously dont know shit about guitar, music, or thomas from fall of troy. cuz this song is seriously so sick!!!

  • lolololololololololol

this is one of the standout songs on the album.

  • You must be one of those typical, uninspired know-it-all non-musicians. The only reason you don't like it is because it's minimalistic and blues. Ironic how of all the opinions posted here, yours is the only one that things this song sucks. Maybe you should just go listen to Metallica.

  • how is it the worst

    or, excuse me, "half-assed"?

  • they wanted to do something different for once. dont bash them dude. i'd like to see you produce something one tenth as amazing as this is

  • Holy hell. If I see one more "You can't do X, so you can't criticize X", I'm going to flip the fuck out.

Fact: An NBA basketball coach is THE worst player on the team, and yet he criticizes EVERY member of his team.

Just because I don't play guitar doesn't mean that I can't recognize a shitty song when I hear one.

  • Fact: That NBA coach has had to prove himself to stay alive in the sports industry, and even if he can't play for shit he knows damn fucking well how to organize a team. What can you do? You can masturbate yourself to how witty you are while making snide comments on youtube, but I'm willing to bet that's about it.

You sure as hell don't have any taste in music, seeing as your knowledgeable critique earned you a -8 and dismissal as a dumb asshole from everyone who read it.

  • Yes, because 8 Fall of Troy fans are upset that I insulted Fall of Troy, I have no taste in music. Thanks for playing.

  • Wrong. You're at negative 9 now, and with the lack of any support for your comment your opinion is at 9 to 1. Obviously your opinion is unpopular, unsubstantiated and shite. Now dwell in your dank basement in peace and spare me your attempts at anymore witticisms.

  • Again, you shouldn't be surprised that all the Fall of Troy fanboys and girls that visit this page are upset by my review. Applying your logic, it's quite likely that I can find more people who say Fall of Troy are utter shit than there are Fall of Troy fans. Hence, all of your opinions are invalidated, thus validating mine. Interesting how that works. If you assume you're right, then you're right.

  • The issue was within Fall of Troy fans and so non-Fall of Troy fans opinions are moot concerning your judgment as "their worst song". You chose to express your comment to a specific group and the validation of your opinion is obvious. If you really feel the need to go express it to some Metallica fans then go right a-fucking-head, but until then it's a non-issue.

Please stop trying be right, it's just not going to happen.

  • On the contrary, if you want an objective review of a song, you need to ask a non-fan, else you get something like "ZOMG FoT IS FUCKING AWESOME". The corollary, of course, is that dissent is met with "WUT YOU DON'T LIKE THIS SONG DOWNRATED LOL", which is precisely what has happened here.

In short, neutrality and objectivity go hand in hand.

  • You're right, you're obviously being unfairly marginalized for sharing a valid opinion. Please, allow me to give you the chance to set the records straight by prompting you to expound your well-thought and reasoned criticism of this song. Well?

  • "You sure as hell don't have any taste in music, seeing as your knowledgeable critique earned you a -8 and dismissal as a dumb asshole from everyone who read it."

The argument with you was never even about this song, per se. It was about you claiming that I had no taste in music BECAUSE fans of a particular band disliked my opinion which is utterly false. You've obviously conceded that point, so I won the fight you started.

  • Still waiting for your valid criticism of the song. By skirting this chance to prove me utterly wrong in assuming you're just a dumb asshole by expanding your negative opinion of the song you're just admitting you're full of shit. It's time to put up or shut up, let me hear your objective reasoning.

  • I won the argument, so how is it that I'm under any sort of burden here? If anyone's skirting anything, it's you for attempt to call attention away from the fact that your argument was flawed from the very beginning.

  • At first I called you out on your bullshit comment, which proceeded until you made some asinine statement about non-Fall of Troy fans outnumbering Fall of Troy fans legitimizing your opinion that was outnumbered by fall of Troy fans, which I responded to by saying outside fans are moot since they not involved in the critique. You then grasped at the notion that people were mindlessly down-voting your valid argument out of vapid adoration for the band...

    -----continued

  • and when I gave you the chance to win the argument then and there by displaying this valid opinion you start spouting bullshit about already having won! It's actually hilarious to see someone so stupid try to prove themselves intellectually. As I've said before, you can demonstrate this valid critique which you were unfairly ostracized for, or you can fail and admit you're a sad dumb little shit simply by failing to do so. It's an ultimatum, and a simple one at that.

  • Although I already know the result, it's really funny to see you flounder like this, trying to satisfy your insecure need to be right, not having the brains to back it up.

  • You attacked my NBA coach analogy by saying the NBA coach knows basketball, but I know nothing about music. Your evidence for this claim? Eight Fall of Troy fans agree with you.

Now, carrying YOUR logic further, if eight FoT fans make me incorrect, then I need only go to a Metallica vid and get 9 Metallica fans to agree that FoT sucks and then I'll be right. I'm not making an argument here - I'm showing the flaw in your logic by extending it to another conclusion.

    You lost before you began.

  • Right, it's obvious that you're at the end of your abilties, you're going to start repeating the same fallacies over and over. I'm going to leave before it stops being funny and just gets sad; you ended the argument the moment you petulantly refused to elaborate on your criticism, although it had the opposite effect you'd intended.

  • Or is it that you're at the end of your abilities? You can't seem to address my argument, so you shift the blame to my for refusing to talk about this shitty song.

  • Wasn't that the focus of this in the first place? I think you've forgotten exactly which comments section you're in.

  • It was the focus as far as your involvement was concerned. Your original comment was to claim that I had no musical taste because some Fall of Troy fans said so. I think I've thoroughly smashed that argument.

  • No it wasn't; you should go back and check again. You can't smash what was never there, you schizophrenic psycho...

  • From your first post:

"You sure as hell don't have any taste in music, seeing as your knowledgeable critique earned you a -8 and dismissal as a dumb asshole from everyone who read it."

I don't know how we can continue this if you can't read.

  • dude if u dont like the song why are you looking it up

  • Fucking hell if I read a comment like this one more time...

I found out how shitty it was AFTER looking it up. How the fuck am I supposed to know if it's any good BEFORE I listen to it?

  • um whyd u look it up in the first place? and leme ask wat type of music do u find good.?

  • Because Sledgehammer is fucking amazing, so I listened to more songs. That's how I found out this particular song is utter shit.

Also, is it terribly difficult to type in complete sentences?

  • this is online i type however i want no ones grading me and if they are they got no life. and yes sledgehammer is one of my favs. look up stuff from doppleganger if u want insanity. this is one of their softest songs but stil good. if u want hardcore only, self titled album and doppleganger are the way to go. and pretty much the rest of manipulator.

  • If you dont like it why did YOU look it up? You didnt have to.

  • what are you talkin bout why did i look it up? i love tfot and i know all their songs starting from tribune and even some hills have eyes. i love every song with thomas in it period.

  • @exsymphony haha dude, you're a big serious fan of these guys. I don't blame you. I was sad when they broke up and their music was so diverse, something new, no one has ever tried doing stuff like this. But it was a good 7+ years and I'm going to see them on their last tour before they depart. I wonder what Thomas, Frank, and Andrew will do now?

  • um thomas proly new band frank back to of stalwart fads and andrew lost. these are just guesses.

  • i went to bamboozle to see them a couple weeks ago and i talked to Andrew after the show and he said he wants to go back to school and maybe become a teacher

  • @joshmags777 oh my gosh i was there too!!!!!! i wonder if i saw you there ;)

  • @dtdude1992 probably, considering i went with you!! haha best day ever...in history

  • @8JobForAMexican8 just about 9 years. More if you're counting The Thirty years War, a band that Andrew, Thomas, and Tim were all a part of before The Fall of Troy. The only real difference was the fact that they had a fourth member, Mike Munro then.

  • The heck is wrong with you son!

It just shows that Thomas has more variety in his skillz.

  • The guitar in this is so creative, i love how it goes from like happy upbeat major sounding chords and switches to minor sounding ones in the verses

  • awsome jam

  • manipulator is the best album of tfot in my page.cool song too

  • How do you not understand the lyrics?

  • Lol my theory is that the less you understand the lyrics the better the song

  • Comment removed

  • you´re right

  • i really like this song. :} but i think what tom is saying in the lyrics is that he really likes this girl but he cant tell her cause he thinks he would sound like an idiot trying to tell her so he keeps it a secret until one day he can tell her exactly how he feels. haha. well thats what i think. :P

    TFOT IS FUCKIN' INSANE! :D

i love the fall of troy (:

  • awesome.

  • Dammit I hear This song than more 10 times i like and TFOT Is the best!!

    TFOT Rulez

    I love them :)

  • you mean troy ? haha goood onneee..

  • I now have a new favorite song!

  • fucking amazing.

  • he never says the ghostship ttiles

  • i do.

  • calling someone a homo dosnt mean you win it means your homophobic and homophobics love at life. its ok to like the same gender so your not gonna win...haha you just got fucked over =P

  • very mello. i like it.

  • OMG OMG OMG the fall of troy actually named a song after their lyrics!

  • yea true that man but still all their songs kick ass!!!!

  • they also had whacko jacko named after the lyrics

  • sledgehammer and quarter past dude
