    -sam

  • I took a car to KMart garage for a front brake job. I watched the mechanic press the caliper piston back in without opening the bleed valve. I told him at that time I'd never seen anyone(including me)do that. When I drove it out of the garageI had no brakes, he'd blown the master cylinder out. The fucking shop manager said that it was like that when I brought it in. I blew up then went to the store manager. He replaced the master cylinder and gave me the brake job for free :D

  • Vouch for Rick hes legit

  • You are good person... helping people like this. Go on...

  • rick, this vid proves how good a man you really are.

and by the way im really drunk.

  • hey rick, thats amazing that you put this video up, i own a 2004 impala, and literally yesterday for the first time i experienced this problem with the PASSLOCK bullshit on my car...i HATE this feature, totally useless, so what if someone breaks into your car and can't start it, they will probably get frustrated and destroy the inside of your car anyway while in the process...i think its rediculous that GM never put out any recall for this!

  • hey rick nice vid,.

dit u get the chevy going?

  • u need to reprogram the ignition its easy look it up

  • your a fucking good bloke my man

  • if you need ford factory parts? do your research online there is a factory ford dealer that is very cheap. i can not remember the name? but it was about $5.00 per plug for a 98 ford ranger. there is also many online OEM dealers of ford parts. amazon etc. most of them are drop shippers. just go with the lowest price plus shipping. if i find the name of the company i will post it.

  • GM mechanics fucked up my mom's 2005 GMC denali. they fucked up the heater coil, and took out the circuit board for the turning signal so it looks like it has tourettes. they did that after replacing the tank for the engine coolant which probably got broken by the dealer mechanics.

  • Wow Rick you are such a nice person. Good job!

  • Hey Rick were waiting for part two to see what happened pls dont keep us in suspence thanks,

    Dan

  • hey rick, we replace a lot of lock cylkinders on impalas in my shop ( chevy dealership), and there is a re-learn process that you have to go through to get it to start right. you turn the key to on, and leave it like someone else posted, but sometimes you have to do it a couple times. If they get a copy key made to learn the key you put the old one in turn the key to on, take it out and put the new key in and turn it to on.

  • Yup always works for me.

  • Yeah, that's way too much for plugs. I guess the moral of the story is there are other places a kid can be raped besides Davesfarm. LOL

  • wtf? why would u say something like that

  • Did you not realize that Dave Rock is a convicted pedophile? I guess some people still aren't aware of that fact...

  • If you don't mind valleyfever, as you see, I don't remove comments or block users cause I believe in freedom of speech, but would you mind keeping this subject off my channel, thanx.

  • I will respect that. Thank YOU for not lying and saying that the fact I stated is untrue. Many people on here seem to think that lying and manipulating the truth is how to make this issue go away. I will make sure this issue never "goes away" but I will respect your wishes to keep it off your channel.

  • hey buddy :) I dislike racism and ignorance and hate tons , and fight it everyday day of my life, but when I see any , and I mean ANY kind of living creature doing something productive and nice I smile and make me feel hope , I believe u seem like a good guy, putting aside the "cultural" (meaning about the redneck part') kudos :)

  • u know he is going on with life having fun will u just drop this stuff all peaple make mistakes

  • Correct. I'm the asshole that makes sure they don't repeat them.

  • i didnt say that im just saying sum ppl just need to move on with life

  • That's really good of you, Rick.

  • Good Thinking Rick, keep up that mindset.

  • I have not found a decent honest knowledgable mechanic in decades. I have now become a mechanic myself just so I can work on my own vehicles. If I can't do it, it goes to the junk yard. I also don't own any vehicles with computers in them anymore. Only older vehicles without them.

  • It's kicking off the injectors, fuel pump and spark.

  • hay whats up its tractor man and im with you all the way that guy almost got fucked you saved his ass good job keep it up

  • That why i help all my family and friend with there cars we don't take are cars anywhere but to are garage.. 50 60 70 bucks an hour to fuck up you car OK where do i sighn up dee dee dee... Thanks Rick for the video this week i hope your Shitter is feeling better lmao

  • hey my mom got fuck over her truck its a 1972 chevy pickup truck and runs good and all and it need a lot of parts like balljoints and cab mounts and even headlights because they one was different than the other and thats bullshit....................we took it to the same guy last year and nothing was wrong he pissed me off

  • You paid 140$ for spark plugs, and another 40 to put them in? *facepalm*

  • Rick, if you stumble upon any more information on passlock I like we discussed shoot it my way. Will be looking for the passlock II video though!

  • hey do you know how to fix a car with passlock 1 problem ? that car does the exact same thing starts dies starts dies. Man that would be a life saver if you could help me figure this out. cars been sitting forever.

  • This is a secuity light that tells you the computer theft has been tripped. When the mechanice changed the key cylinder it triped a secuity code. All you have to do is turn the key on for 5 to 30 mins sometimes and let it sit. the computer needs to relearn. After that the flashing light should go out. Once you see this the car should start. Let me know what happens when you try this. I hate the few mechanics that don't keep up on stuff give the rest of us a bad name.

  • First off yet me start by saying I've been a mechanice for 20 years now and its not the mechanics fault for over charging most of the time. Its the owner or the front counter person that feeds the lies. #2 Some people just don't keep there cars repairs up then when they do goto get it fixed it cost them alot of money because its made other problems. That said I know how to fix this car in about 5 to 20 mins. When you turn the key on there will be a red light flashing. 2 part

  • now would he need the reisistance in the old key or the new lock cylinder? a impalla of that year is about par on auction or a bit high even for a runner

  • whithout seeing the car i would offer $500 max, if they pay for the transfer package

  • Your a good guy rick I bet that guy is happy

  • whats the name of that website

  • Kijiji

  • Ohh CL is better in my opinion.

  • Your a good guy rick. someone could of bought that car and sell it for 3 times as much.

  • so true, there are many mechanics that screw people, they want a arm and a leg to get it done right at the dealer and then you have garages that are cheaper than dealer prices but they do half as work, but i will admit if your lucky you can find a good garage that won't screw you, but it seems the nice older mechanics are disappearing and its nice to see people like you Rick help people out, it seems every one is trying to under cut someone else in this world, which is sad

    -Brent

  • Thats super nice of you to do Rick! Your an awesome guy! As for the Mechanics...there are some good honest ones out there...I myself am one of them heck I'll make house calls sometimes! But then there is a local guy who I wouldn't take a bicycle too! Way to many bad Mechanics give us good ones a bad name! Anyway, that was an awesome video Rick!

  • i agree with alot of you guys on here about them ripping you off. the dealerships charge way too much and do half assed work in my opion. great video rick and that was very nice of you to help that poor guy out

  • 300.00 for new wires is a total rip off unless some of the wires are in incredibly hard places to get to!!! At any rate you brought it in for a stalling issue, so I would ask, was it running rough at idle as well?

  • My question was for 1997fordprobegt.

  • very true about auto mechanics you get ones who take your money and try to fix it and cant do it right or you take it to a mechanic who can fix it right at like a dealership and you get screwed out of about a months worth of money :(

  • same engine as my monte carlo ;). but my old caravan did that, if you hold the throttle about 1/2 dow after it fires, DONT LET OFF and it will stay running, and when at a stop light slip it in neutral and hold the gas, thats how we got it to mechanics when it did it, of course, it was the computer needing reset

  • my moms impala had the same problem, but it wouldnt start at all, youd turn the key and nothing. sometimes it would start and work fine, others not. we got our fixed and now we still have it. its a very nice car. but thats y i like cars without computers in them. like my truck

  • Hey Rick, nice video and by the way, you're soo right about a lot of mechanics! That guy Dave .. only kidding lol! But really, mechanics that screw up a job and make lame excuses are like their excuses, LAME!!

    5/5

PS I love that helping another quality you have! Hope you never lose it as it's rare!!

  • Nice of you to help the guy out.that sink you bought, those are the ones i manufacture here in the okanagan,i htink i mentioned that ,i was gona trade for the JD hood,ya i know im still thinking how to make it easy on the manufacturing part+i got called in to another job for two weeks ,so no i did not forget about it ,ill pm you soon, take care

  • BUTTSECKS

  • Not all mechanics do bad business, but most are incompetent and don't know how to treat their customers well.

My dad is a great import mechanic, I don't think he's ever done something like this to someone to milk the money dry. But yeah, people should definatley ask around like this guy before they bring their business somewhere. I mean you wouldn't fly with an airline that crashes once or twice every week that's for sure.

I would have purchased the car for that amount to be honest lol.

  • yeah whats even worse rick is when you send your car to the dealer and they mess you up even worse we sent our kia to the dealer to have some repairs made was supposed to fix the car charged us 1200+ bucks and now it runs worse than it did when we sent it in thats what pisses me off is gettin ripped off come to find out we need another grand to fix the motor no tellin what else if i wasnt disabled id fix it myself but that does suck havin a mechanic screw a person ride up

  • my dads ranger got fucked up by one of these assholes and also left the power steering thing loose.

  • I enjoyed my weekend, and damn that sucks ass for that guy. . . This why i am afraid to take my car to get it fixed. Paying someone lots of money to fuck it up when i could of fucked it up for less LOL

  • I couldn't agree with you more

  • tell him to turn it to on and don't start it. The light should go off after 15min

  • It's actually 10min no less but he said he's tried it and don't work. My guess the mechanic fuk'd the wiring trying to fix it. If my bypass don't work, the mech fuk'd the module. There's two ways I can test it...relay with a toggle, or resistors.

  • You on point, i have a 01 grand am with the same type of passlock. I don't know about the resistors (never tried that) but all it does is check and see if a key has been inserted. My key does not have a resistor like the older gm key. He also may need to go the dealer and have a new key cut from his vin number. I know I not 100 percent right but just putting that out their.

  • You're a Saint man, Awesome!! :)

  • Nice of you to help the guy out. I would've bought the car and resold it. Its worth that $950 in interior/exterior parts and engine alone. He must've went to either some backyard mechanic/friend or one of those two bit repair shops run out of a gas station or something cuz thats ridiculous. Obviously wasn't a GM dealership because that'd be all standard procedure to a trained technician.
