@VMEV If you think about it they managed to figure out his location (he wasn't really in the open) and return fire successfully. They also apparently flanked him as the moved to the side of the building.

Most AI in other games (coughCODcough) would most likely not try and actually get to him, and would rather stay put and shoot at him until he comes out and trys to kill them all with his riot shield XD. Okay, sure this is not the best demonstration but you have to admit the AI is pretty good for what it has to handle. Infinite amounts of coustom maps/weapons, engaging different enemys at distance with assorted weapons all on a non-linear path, etc.
Well, i guess it's due to how consuming ARMA already is, it's pretty hard even for some good pc's, so i spose if you want it done, modders are the way to look.

I don't like ArmA. It could have been way better if it's creator had put in a bit more effort. AI has not changed since OFP CWC, same as buildings which get sandwiched when collapsed. If Project Reality: ArmA 2 comes out I will definitely play it.

I remember the original Operation Flashpoint (the one this is based on) also had great AI. I was playing on a LAN with a friend. We captured a base, with troops and tanks. Some of the AI got away and ran into the forest. My friend's squad left with the tanks and i just had a few troops. After like 2mins, a shot rang out. Suddenly we were under attack by the AI troops who had fled into the forest. THAT's what makes these games so much fun.

@XkriskrossX ArmA 2 has destructible environments but it's not to that great of an extent as BFBC2. Buildings can be leveled, but no holes in the walls.

Arma 2 on the other hand was £15 well spent.. Very realisitc military simulator is buggy but still a good muliplayer game

Probably because the entire radio tower thing is one big static mesh.
In my experience with the UDK and Source you have to make multiple meshes (brushes in Source's case) to be able to have breakable windows and such.
IDK if you own arma but....
That game is DEMANDING AS ALL HELL on your hard drive and CPU (has to load all those textures and simulate all the fired shots, ai, etc...).
And besides they have to be able to cut unneeded polygons where they can to optimize it.

@sheenydonut Well i think that if you want a game thats in between realistic and arcade, go for OF, but if you just want it to be like simulator or realistic go for ARMA 2. but the 1 great thing about operation flashpoint, is its not hardware hungry like Arma 2 is. But arma 2 is better overrall if you have a good system.

@sheenydonut true, but codemasters said it would have a good destructive system, and it gave us a game built off a race car engine...from dirt....becuase of the lighting effects....they butchered the OF series, in my opinion. the map editor only allows you to place about 60-70 ai units on the map.....arma2 can have hundreds, idk i've never seen the maximum for arma...OF 1 was the same way..idk what happened to DR but i think its horrible compared to the first

@Phantom663 you can get one press right ctrl while holding down m. If you have a GPS it will give you a map, only if you have a GPS though.

If this game had the destructable environments of BF:BC2 i would $HIT my pants, i also have Operation Flashpoint 2 but that doesnt even hold a candle to ARMA 2 =D

@XkriskrossX ArmA 2 has destructible environments but it's not to that great of an extent as BFBC2. Buildings can be leveled, but no holes in the walls.

Modernwarfare 2 absoloutely pisses me off it has been such a let down compared to it's predecesor Call of duty 4 Thus with high expectations from Cod4 mw2 completely let me down with the child like gameplay and multiplayer experience.. The game is for the newcomers not us seasoned veterans..
Arma 2 on the other hand was £15 well spent.. Very realisitc military simulator is buggy but still a good muliplayer game
