Mr. Backwoods has it just right. Whoever is@the helm for Floyd makes no difference@all. Floyd is the best, most diverse band ever. David is 1 of my fave guitar players and he can pick the strings like no one else!ALL HAIL 2 THE PINK!
this is like one of the visions that people described .......when people die they have visions .....near death experiences....thumbs up if god dosent exist
without roger waters, the band just doesnt have the same feel that everyone loves about pink floyd. The division bell is good, but its no dark side of the moon, or the wall.
@fronsklu2 Likewise, I don't think The Final Cut was very good as it had almost no input by Gilmour and was basically just a Waters album. The two definitely compliment each other.
@dkseaverns1 me too ! it was amazing ! nash, tn. vanderbilt stadium 94. david gilmour plays soooo clean even live ! it just doesnt get any better than these guys !
Pink Floyd were truly harbingers of the hippie culture. Listening to each song of Pink Floyd takes me back to the sixties, a time when mysticism was in the air and when Floyd was had just born and was creating its first earliest and waves of music.
Pink Floyd were truly harbingers of the hippie culture. Listening to each song of Pink Floyd takes me back to the sixties, a time when mysticism was in the air and when Floyd was had just born and was creating its first earliest and waves of music.
I remember standing in line at midnight for an early release of division bell.. it came out shortly after loosing my mom to cancer. Very lovely music. I listened to it alot after i lost her.
On a road trip with my mates, I will never forget listening to this my the side of a Swedish lake, High off my tits. The most relaxed I have ever felt in my life. God bless pink floyd

This remembers me of one evening back in 74 in which me and my palls were having a lot of fun. We were talking loudly and laughing all the time and then we have this moment where everything gets quiet and we smile at each other and say: Lets go bone some women, boys. I cry every time I remember this.
Listening to this song or any other Floyd tune always gets the creative juices flowing. I don't think i could do my english homework without it. I should probably cite pink floyd as one of my sources in my bibliography. XD
@thefloyd141 To me it seems like a separation. My own thoughts are somewhat clouded on this matter as the entire Division Bell to me is an album about loss of friends lovers etc....
@1985typ944 With titles like "cluster one," "poles apart," "marooned," "wearing the inside out," and "take it back" one definitely gets the sense its about love lost. I suppose the two (piano and guitar) could represent two lovers?
@thefloyd141 possibly, but the most interesting aspect of "Division Bell" for me is that the themes aren't confined simply to romantic relationships. They can certainly be taken that way, but I think that like most of Pink Floyd's work it is very much based on individual experience. That is to say everyone hears them differently. For me "Cluster One" is about lovers, both the piano and the guitar have their own sensuality.
@1985typ944 That's a good question. I've noticed this album cover both with and without those lights, so I can' be sure it has much significance. I would say perhaps the proverbial 'light at the end of the tunnel:' relationships (romantic, familial, etc.) are full of difficulties, but, after getting through the hard times, there's nothing but happiness.
Roger Waters may be one of the most important members that pink floyd has had, but i think its stupid for him to give this album a bad review, knowing that HIS departure caused it.
