Seems okay for the average user. I have no problem with this, why are people acting all hateful towards this? I have plenty of knives and love to sharpen, but not everyone does, so I see this may interest some people. Fun looking little product.
Ah, steels are NOT for sharpening. They are for honing and polishing after sharpening. Why perpetuate the myth that steels sharpen? They won't do a thing for a dull blade.
No doubt! Its a total gimmick! He should replace the word, "gadget," in his video with "gimmick." Its a joke! But hey, he's got Rachel Ray endorsing and selling it, so at least he's a smart marketer... I wonder what he's paying her?

I disagree, thought not as good as, it works on the same principal as the Warthog sharp. I have a Warthog and that thing works amazingly.

using a steel isn't difficult and it doesn't actually take away material, it just staightens an edge that has come out of true.
