living in Roanoke I would have to say that the SE part of Roanoke especially down around 9th street and Tazwell ave is crime ridden...it's not a good neighborhood at all. On the other side of Town Melrose AVe is loaded with police on a nightly basis....from Downtown all the way through to where Salem begins is rough...North West depending on where exactly you are can be hit & miss...North East going out of town towards Bonsack and Bedford is good....South West down by Brambelto

SW City is the worst part. It's much worse than NW. SW county and South Roanoke are like a different city. They're nice and quiet. You can go from $500,000 homes to $50,000 homes in less than 10 minutes.

North West city has the murderers and drugs South East has alot of petty crimes fights and burglaries.... youll know when you see the area whats ghetto

LOL. This vid makes Roanoke seem like the town out of the Stepford Wives or something. Interesting to see though, as I've never lived anywhere else.
